    Default Television

Television is one of the main pastime media for todays children. Children`s television programmes began in the 1950s. By 1951 television showed up to 27 hours per week of television programmes aimed at children. The usual time slot was late afternoon and evening with programmes aimed at shorter viewing periods. In the mid 50s the Saturday morning television programme slot was discovered, and since then has long since been kept for children`s viewing. The 1960s saw a switch to animation based television programmes which were cheaper to produce. The lower the cost; the more could be produce and children`s television gained more viewing slots. In the 1970s programmes were made longer to increase viewing figures and in the 80s cable television arrived. This enriched and widened the scope for the provision for children and dedicated television channels were aired.

For me TV is a good time pass. I love to see comedy serials and some interesting movie ( if there is any). So for me TV is definately a important way to pass the time.

I dont think that i have seen TV for last 2 months. I am busy with my daily routine but when ever i would like to relax or something good i go to a cinema hall and see a movie there which is much better then sticking to TV. So for me TV is not a good way to pass my time.

I like to relax with an absorbing book.

If not books, I prefer to relax and watch DVDs at home over my portable DVD player or (sometimes) my laptop. If I am very inclined, I switch on my home theatre which has a Panasonic Projector (PT-AE700-U) and 12' wide screen (but I have to darken my HT room for that). This happens on Sat/Sun only for a couple of hours at most.

For relaxing i do not liek to see go out for movies. I love to go to my farm house and relax there as it is away from city noise and it is also very pleasant. I have a Sattelie V there so i do watch movies there ( if there is any good movie playing) otherwise i watch any of the DVD i have,

I don't think that TV would be of that much importance in near future as people are getting more and more busy in there daily routine and as for relaxing many like to go out.. so as of this i think it would be ignored a little bit more...
