People can extend this discussion further. They can, for instance, comment on quality, service, support, web site, etc. on each provider.

You can download the XLS, edit it (for genuine corrections and/or additions) but write your comments in the post only so that they are easily seen. I did not consider FTA and Regional channels. But you can comment on the same too. Someone can add a Sun DTH column in the XLS.

Update: Added some info about Sun DTH. But comparing Sun DTH with others is not fair at all. This is because Sun DTH caters for and provides South Indian Channels - many of which are not available in the other three. For South India, Sun DTH works much better as a package.

Also added number of channels.

i m unable to open the comparison file.

have one question.

i am new to this site and forum. do you have any info regarding when tata sky will launch its HD and DVR STB.

a few of my friends are satisfied tatasky subscribers and hence i am leaning towards tatasky.

Every dealer i visited in my town has asked me to steer clear off Big TV and most are not too enamored by airtel too in comparision to Tatasky.

TataSky already has HD services. It provides three channels - Discovery HD, NGC HD and Star Plus HD.

I suspect that Star Plus HD is not really an HD channel but SD upscaled to HD by hardware.

Regarding DVR-STB, there is TataSky+. But it is not HD compliant as yet (as far as I know). I tell many people to stay away from any type of DVR. It is fun for the first few days and then it is just used as a normal STB. Very few people have the patience to program the DVR to record stuff.

I can not open the zip file. I can download the zip and when I try to open it, it gives error "cannot open file ; it does not appear to be a valid archive. If you downloaded this file, try downloading the file again".
I have tried several times but could not succeed.

File has 8 errors but if you just let it open and ignore the errors it displays perfectly fine.

Many many thanks for this post and the .xls file. Today I was able to select my channels from TS but was having problems viewing list of channels on Big TV web site needed for my Father in Law. Currently he is having Annual Package activated on BIG but Zclassic is missing. His provider was unable to help him out in this matter. Finally your file helped me. I will try again. I liked the views posted and was impressed by its neutrality. Thanks again.
