Thread: Dreambox

I have heard that there exists a set top box made by a company called Dreambox. Basically by installing a Dreambox STB, one can watch any channel from any satellite (provided that dish is aligned porperly to the satellite)

I am too lazy to do a research. If any member has idea or information, please post. Guaranteed reward points.

Oh Manish! I had already searched in Wikipedia. But thanks anyway.

I was more looking at someone who has it, or has seen it, knows a friend who has it, etc. More than anything, I wish to know whether this really works.

Perhaps this will be something useful for others also.

everybody Good morning .
I am totally new to this forum ( 7 minutes a go !!!! ) so I don't know what I can and I can not do or give info.

If it is ok with mods then I can give the address in India where DreamBox 500 S is available . or Pm me . I would rather give it on forum so all members can take advantage .

Yes. Buf before that, I was wondering on many things like:

- does it really work?
- can it decrypt any channel?
- has any one used it (in USA it is illegal to own one)?
- what is the street price?

Sounds interesting . I wanted to know if i could ask my friends from USA buy it and bring it here. Will i be able to use it in india?

That my friend is a million dollar question. I am not sure how it works. Or whether whatever works in US will work in India also.

Friends Using Dreambox in INDIA & USING in US or UK is totally different.

In US & UK you get latest keys for most of the channels & providers .

There Dreambox is very very commonly used, Where as in INDIA its only used by cable operators & they use original cards like dishtv, tata or any other service provider to share with there all receivers.

Thats called card sharing.

Key funda do not work here in INDIA

So for a normal user dreambox is waste.

I hope its enough to clear all doubts.

I dont think dreambox works in India. Thats what i heard from my US based friend so cannot confirm it. also, is it legal to use it here?
