Angry DishTV's offers for multi-TV downgraded!

DishTV used to offer multi-TV facility for 2nd/3rd/4th TV in the same house for half the price of the Maxi package.

DishTV is now doing away with the previous packages (Freedom, Welcome, Maxi, etc.) and introduced new packages such as Silver, Gold, Diamond, Platinum and a-la- Carte.

The multi-TV facility is available on Platinum and Platinum South packages only.

Earlier, if you had multiple connections, you could opt for Maxi package and pay full for one TV and half for the rest (max 3 child connections).

However now the child package is offered at Rs. 155 plus taxes on Platinum package (Rs. 275 plus taxes). This is 56%.

But the bad news is that the child package is much less in content. It does not have the following channels:

Star Plus, Channel V, The History Channel, Star Gold, Star World, National Geographic, Star News, Star Movies, Star Vijay, CNBC TV18, CNBC Awaaz, CNN IBN, NDTV 24*7, NDTV Profit, Times Now, Zoom, ESPN, Star Sports, Ten sports, Zee Sports, Star Cricket

The Platinum pack now contains Colors but Star One is gone.

Good news for South India viewers: The new Platinum South to be a good buy.

Tata sky is a bit better in this regard as I only have to pay Rs125 per exta stb in the house and gt all the channels on tha main box.

Its very unfair on dish tv's part ... they shouldnt change these kind of charges especially for surrent customers.. may be introduce the new pricing for new entrants and that would sound a bit more reasonable.

Its becoming a norm for these DTH operators to change tarrifs at will.

They had problems about the upgradation of packages with not many people going for it. so they have found this pathetic attempt to arm twist people into upgrading their packages. People are smart, they shall easily see through this.
