Thread: Dish TV website service

my subscription expiry was on 12-2-2009. I used to recharge through net using credit card. i am trying from 12th to recharge. their website is not working. customer care is very difficult to contact. but keep on sending the message recharge using credit card through internet mentioning about grace period charge. i confirmed with their company associate that the site is down for more than a week. finally i talked to customer care on 16th and told about this and asked him solution. he told me that he will call me back but not yet got any call. i asked him can I switch to airtel or big tv? he indirect answer was yes better move away.

The site reports

Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0113'

Script timed out

now my question is:
Dish tv is running a website like DCA, BCA STUDENT PROJECT site. even he is not able to maintain. Is he heading towards bankruptcy?
I think that he might have got set back due to more competition and mpeg 4 technology

Dont they have any other payment options than this? I mean we can only pay them using the website?

If they are not yielding to your requests, its better to move to another provider..

many options are there but online is always simple and i used to recharge using online method. i cant imagine a multicrore business enterprise doing business like this. how serious they are? suppose some thing happens to there broadcast hardware or software what will they do? it is better to move but others please understand their seriousness in doing the business.

There are many payment options - ITZ Cash Card, Payment by Cheque via dealer/authorized collection center, etc. In some cities, they will even send a guy to collect your cheque,

But I agree that the website is pathetic. It looks like it has been developed by students as a college project.

Their are many payment optionms available with dishtv apart from online payment , like through ITZ cards, cash, dd, cheque , moneyorder and demand draft.

One more thing:
There forms used in their site are sending query to database without any filtration!
so one execute any Command on the DB remotly via SQL injection

The point to be raised here is that they must ugrade the site. They have millions of customers. Plus, this is the age of web. This is year 2009 and not 1995 or 1999. So we do expect state of the art website from them. I don't think that is too much to expect! My friends can do a better site for them

I am wondering how can a major DTH and satellie player providing such a pathetic service. I think their website is maintained by some bunch of illiterate people and they are making fool of a very large subscriber audience. It seems the owner or the management panel are illiterate and they dont know what is technology but managed to get large number of subscribers by advertisement from Shahrukh etc. They should start basic school learning again and try to follow the technology pace.

Yes indeed except for the colour, the tabs and layout looks like Tata Skys website. Its previous ambiguity in the site is reduced by copying Tata Sky.
