Rep Power: 0  |  Help! I have a 115cm dish and a dishtv maxi package but when i do a channel search i just get 127 or 128 channels.I dont get all that is mentioned on the dishtv site.I don't even get DD channels and the zee channels keep freezing.i checked the lnb and stuff and everything is alright.what should i do? thanks in advance |

| Platinum Member  | You are not legally allowed to recieve DishTV signals outside . You will have to get local help. You could try the following: a) From STB menu, retune all channels. b) Check signal strength and re-do dish alignment if required. c) Call customer care and tell them the problem. Don't mention that you live in Oman.

Rep Power: 0 | when you guys do a channel search how many channels do you guys get?i will try to re tune if that does not work i will get a bigger dish and align properly my signal strength comes to 71% and signal quality is 73% but i think the problem is that when i do a channel search it scans through the transponders but then in the end it comes warning some transports have been missed and i have no clue how to fix this problem at all.I scans upto 50% without adding a single channel and around 7 transports are missed.is it a problem with my VC? | @man utd rox i think you should once contact the CC .. dont tell them that you are from oman. just ask them about your problems in a generic way. though i would recommend you not to continue with any indian DTH as it is illegal. you never know when you would end up in trouble. just an advice. Rep Power: 0 | thanks for the legal advise! will i land up in trouble with my local government here or with DishTV? as here almost every Indian here(thousands and thousands) have DishTV or tata sky here and there are even dealers here but duh its illegal and they charge more. anyways! i tried software upgrade but no gain  i shall contact customer care.Would it be better to mail them rather than call? do you guys think its a problem with my setup because i dont even get the most basic DD channels |

| Platinum Member | You will land up in trouble in both ways: a) DishTV will simply terminate your connection and (may) report you to Indian authorities (minor problem). b) Every country has censorship and other such legal laws and hence it is illegal to receive satellite services of other nations - they may be against the national policies of the country of residence. Also, it will deprive cable/DTH companies of that country, the income. You can be prosecuted and sent to jail (major problem). So my advice is, stop whatever you are doing. | Also calling or mailing the CC can be risky. Both ways, they will be a able to track your location. |

Rep Power: 0 | okay that law here in that regard is very liberal.I just hope that i do not fall in trouble there.My neighbors and everyone when i say everyone I'm not exaggerating but every Indian home home here has DishTV or tata sky here because the local DTH providers(nilesat/pehla) charge around Rs4500 a month for less than the channels you get in DishTV. DishTV proudly mentions that their services are available in adjacent countries so does that mean they do not have a problem with it internationally? dishtv.in/static/faqs.asp#IsDishtvavailable anyways guys help me out with my problem. //You have not activated your account.
