I have unsubscribed a few channels from TS to cut the cost a bit. I have unsubscribed channels like Neo Sports, Neo Cricket, Ten sports. Other than these, I have subscribed for most other channels packages( Lifestyle Gold, Star cricket, espn, Star sports).

yes, u r setup is good, but the prob is u cannot record TV, as u have External TV Tuner. I recommend going for internal TV Tuner card and i have also recommended it in my tutorial.

It was the case when everybody had queries about connecting TataSky or DishTV, i was too not able to connect it and record the channels, as soon as i press the record button, the channel used to scramble or something use to happen.

Yes, Lack of Recording feature is a drawback in external TV tuners. But there are some advantages also:

    - The picture quality in external TV tuners is better.
    - You can watch TV without having to keep the PC on.

i think there is also a draw back that, u have 2 connect u r speakers 2 TV tuner if u want to watch TV, and again connect to PC when u want PC sound, thats rubbish, here in Internal we just have to mute the Line In, from our Sound control panel, which is more user-friendly

I am not comparing External and Internal TV tuners. Both serve different purposes. You tutorial is very good indeed.

But, I have found the way to come over the drawback you mentioned. Check the 2nd & 3rd pics i posted above. That audio splitter has been used for this purpose only. Audio Outputs from both PC & TV tuner is connected to the splitter which is connected to the speaker.

yes, it is simple to connect DishTV and PC same time, but the problem is TV is 21" and Monitor is 17", so if we connect both together....display on TV is ok, but on PC, the picture slides down the screen and cannot view Full TV

    @saurav,

Saw your setup photos. Really nice.

I understand that you are having cable + TS. And that has advantage, especially during rain outage.

But in the long run, you are better off using TS's multi-TV scheme. The 2nd/3rd/4th connection come at 50% price.

In case of Internal TV Tuner:

When you turn the TV tuner Software on - You will see TV.

When you turn it off - You will see Desktop.

In case of External TV Tuner:

When you turn on TV Tuner - You will see TV.

When you turn it off - You will see Desktop.

    This information is not precise,

According to the asker's question the answer should be something like this: ( Rameshjeee )

    With Internal TV Tuner card:

You can view both your desktop and tv, you can use your computer while you enjoying your tv at same time. That is resize your dvr program and put it in a corner and enjoy both ur pc and tv. (Right now iam replying while my tv too running on my screen )

    With External TV Tuner Card:

You can do one at a time as said by surab either you can use TV or PC.
