    Default Dish TV - new subscriberscription service start

    Don't go by the fake claims that Dish TV starts service within 24 hours of placing the order. I ordered the dish connection on a Saturday, the person came to install the dish and the box on Tuesday - that's 3 days and the activation takes another 24 hours - that is the time required by the installation guy to submit the form to Dish and them to activate the service.
    I have also written to their customer care - You get a standard reply that they will revert within 24 hours...
    Now if they have 24 hrs response time for each and every transaction, isn't it pathetic.... Have anyone faced similar problems?
    I hope they will not frustrate me further with their 'customer care' right from the beginning...

    Usually Dish TV are prompt in taking action(at least in my case). Generally, most of the transactions gets completed within 2-3 hours. The 24hour time might just be there to avoid any future complaints by users if their work doesn't get done in 2-3 hours.
    For your installation delay, the person to be blamed is the dealer from whom you bought Dish TV. In my case, I had an up and running connection the next morning itself after the night on which my parents ordered.(but that was some 4 years ago).

    The service levels differ from place to place.

    Now, in my case, the account was activated immediately, i.e., within 2 hours. Here is my story:
    • I went to the dealer in the morning and told him I wanted a connection. He took down my address and all that. Did not even ask for any advance.
    • At 2 PM or so, the dealer came with the DishTV guy and the guy installed the dish and STB.
    • Around 4 PM or so, the DishTV guy was all finished. He called up - either his office or HO in Gurgaon. He told me to keep the STB on. Around 6 PM or so, the connection was working.
    • I had requested a multi-room subscription. But the DishTV people did not have a dual LNB module. So three days later they installed a separate dish for the 2nd connection.
    But that is my story. It will be foolish of me to declare that DishTV is good, best, etc. I know that others may have bad stories as well.

    I presume that service level will be worse off in smaller places. Maybe dealer is also cheating sometimes. Takes the money when he knows that he cannot deliver in time. And finally, customer care may be inefficient at times also or may not be getting proper updates.

    Does not mean that they are bad - just like, based on my experience, I will not call them best.

    At the same time, one should let these people off with a shrug and thought, "this is India; it happens like this all the time; so what else is new?".

    @ Jai Hind,

    That Might be the case with you, Other wise now a days dishtv service is very prompt and improved alot, and i must say its now better then others as well.

    Because of the third party dealer both are affected customer as well as Co.s image.
