Thread: Dish TV Child pack???

Hi guys, I am thinking of taking a new dth connection from quite a few days. Today i checked the dish tv site & found that a child pack is available for rs 170 per month which consist of almost all the channels quite similar to platinum pack. I just need an info about this package that does dish tv applies any special terms for this child pack ??

also please suggest about my decision to go for dish tv that if its correct or not..
p.s. currently i use cable service.

Child pack is super

All DTH providers offer a scheme for multiple TVs in multiple rooms in a same house. So there is nothing unique about DishTV in that respect.

As regards to your decision to go with DishTV...

Pro's

1. DishTV is much cheaper than most of the DTH providers. Only Videocon D2H is cheaper.
2. It provides maximum number of movie channels (not counting the movie on demand channels).
3. It offers the maximum ways to recharge the account.
4. Quality is OK.

Con's

1. The picture quality is not that great - it is tolerable for CRT but inadequate for LCD/Plasma.
2. No Neo channels.
3. Very bad STB user interface

p/s. I am a DishTV user with multi-room connection.

You can use this 'child pack' ONLY for the 2nd tv in your house. Since you are taking new connection you will have to take a silver/gold/platinum etc pack first.

Was the thread starter thinking to subsribe to child pack only? Well, as you said, that is not possible.

For 1st TV, one has to subscribe to Platinum pack (all channels). Child pack is a discount available for 2nd, 3rd and 4th TV in the same house when 1st TV is on platinum pack (not otherwise). All TV connections must be in the same address. For 5th connection, full charges are payable.

Videocon d2h is cheap but it doesn't have much variety in package option or in Top-up channels , though I don't have any idea about its service.

Well one last thing I want to know is How good is Airtel DTH service?

Videocon D2H Gold pack at Rs. 275 pm has all the channels that you will normally want. But it is true that they don't have a base pack and a-lar-carte packs. DishTV scores here.

Airtel DTH is also good.
