Default How to get rid of subtitles?

Is there any way to get rid of those annoying subtitles on English channels such as Star World and movie channels?

Earlier the Set Top Boxes had a subtitles option that worked.

Subtitles are usually from the broadcasters end sometimes they do help in case of foreign language and better understanding but I also agree sometimes they seem to be unwanted.

Subtitles are not introduced by the DTH providers. They are added by the content providers themselves (Star World, Star Movies, etc.) So there is no option for us. I too hate the subtitles.

This is like recording the TV content. The channel logo and the DTH logo is also recorded. Now we wish to remove the logos - but alas, it is not possible.

i think there is no way to get rid of them because the channels themselves write them for the users of non english speaking countries like of asia..

but earlier the movies didnt have it, maybe to make english movies more popular in the unsaturated marketed..

those who need english subtitles for english shows on english channels like star world, etc don't deserve to watch these shows.they should stick to their daily staple diet of sas bahu crap.
because of some fools out there who try to grab more than they can chew, the whole country is suffering.

our poor and backward cousins should learn from international counterparts like fox,CBS,ABC,etc.not only they have subtitles in different languages as an option, they also make the channel logo very tiny, translucent and black and white.

indian TV industry is a joke.hope one day i turn on my TV and on the "breaking news" it says "rakhi sawant is a shemale"

^^ if someone needs subtitles for star world shows,it means he/she usually watch saas bahu soaps ??

btw agree that most of the tv channel logos are distracting, not only that they keep putting programme bugs on top right corner and at the bottom like coming soon,mon-thu etc.

see. there must be many of the people who cannot understand the words. so they all said them to add subtitle below...

but i am so annoyed by the english on english thing...
this is all because some guys cant understand things, so why dont they just go off english channels and see regional ones like mahua, marathi , bangla etc etc..

Well you cann't remove subtitles from these channels as they are not introduced by DTH provider, these subtitles are introduced by broadcaster's end.
