I got a new dish tv connection recently from Vasanth & Co in chennai. The installation is outsourced to some third party company called service world. I had not so good experience with these people when they came for installation. These people were not aware of the current offers which is announced by dishtv. Though the current offer was going on for 6 month free package, I got for 5 months which was an old offer. And they charged me 200 extra for installation though it is supposed to be all inclusive in Rs 2999. And also the installation was not done properly and i was getting signal not found for some of the channels. And on top of it they are charging Rs 15/meter for the extra wire though the Dishtv customer service tells it is Rs 12/meter.

Well, I have Tatasky in my native place, though their charge is little more than DishTv their service is professional which i don't mind paying extra for the good service. I am planning to throw away the dishtv after my free 5 months package expires.

The dish tv guys don't really have any control on the third party service people to whom they have outsourced their job.

Yes I strongly support your view. to install my dish tv connection the poor technician took 3 day at attempt to install properly. but still very poor. their service is very horrible. I am also going to throw away the DISHTV.

i agree with u people, M unhappy with dish too. wondering if i can switch to something better. big is definitely out since ive heard it is flawed , so my option wld be tata or airtel..

Well every body have their own exp. and may be you guys have some bad experience previously , i am also using dishtv from quite some time and haven't face any major problem. and one thing as you guys are comparing it with tata sky i think dishtv is well more better then tata sky and also more value for your money having very economical packages which suits your needs. and also now dishtv also have launch 30+ ala carte pack and gives their customer choice of watch what you want and pay for that only .

It is only when things are going bad, that their service matters. It is easy to differentiate the good one from the bad which is not a rocket science. I have seen when it is not the same company which handles the customer care, all they care about is how to make use of the customer.

tata sky is better option in this case as there is no third party involved, all installation guys are from tata only (when i say from tata, it means tata employees not the local thekedaar or contractor)
whatever problem you face with tata they are always willing to help with a very efficient cust care

I agree with you,no third party involvement has its benefits.. u can easily trust them, they can take full responsibility and they will be better informed about the product.. and tata does have a good reputation in customer care ..

guys no idea bout dish but tata sky service is pretty good. ive had one issue during installation, got it rectified as soon as i brought it to their notice and things are smooth.

Tata sky does look better than Dish tv. The quality is good and the service too appears to be good. As an old dish tv customer, I too am inclining towards tata sky.
