Video and Sound Quality on Dish TV

Unhappy Video and Sound Quality on Dish TV

i feel Dish TV Video and sound quality differ for different channels ....why is it so????...............is it the same for Tata SKY..................i really dont feel it to be a DVD quality video and sound..............


what could be the real problem in this???????

cant we follow up with Dish TV to improve the same!!!!!

Yes. It is true. The quality of Video is slightly better in TataSky (just marginally), but even there it is not DVD quality. The sound is also stereo in both cases and not AC3 as per DVD standards.

The only thing that you get is digital quality. The video and audio is slightly better than VHS quality.

But on some channels even its not true stereo. Such as on SET Max and Star Gold most of the movies are just telecasted in mono

As for now try to adjust the Dish to get the signal strength above 75% (Preferably close to 80%) on all the channels (Or atleast the channels you view regularly). The channels with >75% signal strength delivers good sound/video quality but not better then what they are transmitted to DishTv.

well their is hardly any difference with the picture and audio quality in tata sky and dishtv. and its very difficult to find out with naked eyes if their is any difference.

Welcome back neo001. You are back after a long time.

What you say is true. To the naked eye there is very little difference. And it also depends upon dish alignment, signal strength, etc. Tatasky is marginally better - so if dishTv scores 80%, I will give Tatasky as 80.1%.

I did not find any great difference. At my place the signal level for all channels is more or less the same.
