Thread: Low download speed of Asianet(Kerala)

I am using wow249 plan of asianet dataline. In this plan, the free downloading time period is from 2am-6am. But, when i tried downloading files by u-torrent software during this time frame, the download speed i got was only about 20kB/s. My upload speed was also around 20kB/s. My friends who have bsnl connection told me that they get speeds around 100-200kB/s. Now, why is the asianet speed slow then? Are there any ways to improve my speed to 100kB/s by adjusting the settings in u-torrent? Please help me!

Also, i would like to add that i am using Vista premium as my OS

There's nothing to do with your windows or any other software but you do check your firewall settings to open up the ports but the most important is

make sure you have enough bandwidth to get speeds of 100-200 KB/s speed check with your ISP on how much bandwidth they have allotted to you i.e. check your plans maximum speed which will be in Kbps

I am also using asianet and noticed that the torrent speeds are very low. I have to use private trackers like TorrentLeech to get good speeds like 220kBps.

Anyway direct http downloads are really fast. I am able to download about 3 GB every night.

ARE YOU USING WOW249 plan of asianet?

I ONLY GOT A SPEED OF 130kbps.....
only some times got 200kbps in free time (2am-6am)

Im using Homenet 475.

I get around 210kBps average during the night unlimited period.
