I am afraid we cannot use two broadband connections on a single telephone connection. A separate telephone connection is required for the second broadband account to be setup.
BTW u can always opt for a Multiuser account which allows multiple users to be logged in from a single connection.
DSL have limited bandwidth.
a local loop cannot have two broadband connections, working on a single telephone connection. its simply not possible.
A technologically possible solution is:
however you can use two connections at a same time but concept of Virtual CIrcuits.
for this each connection should different VCI/VPI values. This is princical on this IPTV and Broadband work together. However its not possible to get another broadband connection.
The best way, is to apply for another lanline connection. these days even the registration charges are waived off by BSNL. so its really cheap
Broadband speed will be shared by all people using the same connection at the same time. For example, if the BB speed is 256 kbps and one user is downloading a file at highest speed, i.e., 256 kbps, and another user starts another download, then depending upon the network symantecs, the speed of the first user will drop to accomodate the second user.

point not clearit can be done or not? actually we have 2pcs and 1 laptop at home. one pc is used by my father. we always end up arguing that "you are using up the bandwidth... plz stop your download etc etc ... "
.... i have been looking for a solution where we can restrict bandwidths to different pcs when they are used simultaneously but when only one of them is used i dont want any restrictions on bandwidth
If you are using IDM, you can use the (bandwidth) speed limiter feature to restrict download speeds.
thanks for the info .. one more doubt ..
as i have said earlier in a thread ... my average DL speed is 384kbps ... i.e at moments the speed may go down to 100kbps and at times it goes upto 600-700 kbps ... now if i restrict the speed for one pc to say 256kbps ... will that mean the speed wont ever cross the 256kbps mark ? or the average DL speed will be 256kbps ?![]()
If u restrict the speed on one PC to 256kbps, then the maximum speed attainable by that PC will be 256kbps. It will keep on wavering and will max out at 256kbps.
