Post Need Settings for Mtnl modem HG510(Huawei ?) with Linksys WRT54G wirless router

I have Mtnl broadband modem HG 510. I think its made by Huawei. It says Trendchip when you access thru your browser 192.168.1.1. I have linksys wirless router WRT54G. I had no problems running my 3 laptops wireless with it. Somehow I decided to switch to TATA Sky broadband thinking they will give better service. They came and installed it but the speed was not close to what they said it would be. I disconnected it and connected my MTNL like before but cant get the wireless to work. I thing some settings were changed by TATA guys. Now TATA and MTNL are not willing to help. Can anyone tell be what settings each one Mtnl modem and linksys should have. Step by step. Thanks

Currently I won't be able to help you because I have no idea of MTNL's any setup.

But, did you just say that "TATA and MTNL are not willing to help". We can leave the TATA now, since you have terminated their service. But, the MTNL customer care has to answer your needs.

Anyway, please wait for essbebe or any other techie to come online and give an answer for this.

    OR

Option 2: follow the modem part in this link ( screen shots available )
The little I know about Dataone Broadband Services offered by BSNL
VPI VCI 0 and 32 MTNL ID and PW.
    Check connectivity.
    Para two:
    (a)For MTNL VPI VCI 0 and 32 ( Important )
Rest of the settings will remain same for "Bridged" mode.
    Use dialer to connect.

Or enter your MTNL ID and PW in the "WAN Page"
ppp/PPPoE mode. "Always On Mode " ( preferred mode )
    Check connectivity.
    (b) In computer
    Start/Network/LAN Properties TCP/IP
    properties.
    Select Obtain IP address automatically.
DNS: enter if you know MTNL's or opendns
    208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222 apply save.

Confirm you get connected to MTNL BB.

Para three: Assuming WRT54G settings remained same
    connect lpatops and try
    If not working feedback.
or see and download this ( for future reference also )

Finally with both modem and WIFI router connected
Note this data and report if still problem.
Start RUN type cmd type ipconfig /all

Main idea is to enter .VPI/VCI ID and PW. for MTNL.
