Thread: Connect BSNL Broadband via LAN and UTSTARCOM WA3002G4 ADSL2+ Modem

I am not able to connect BSNL Broadband by LAN Cord connected to UTSTARCOM WA3002G4 ADSL2+ Modem

It is totally configuration problem. I have another modem which connects well to broadband via my laptop and ethernet cable.

But I have bought this MODEM because it has Wireless Access Point which connects Internet via WireLess quite fine, via LAN it does not connect.

Via Wireless: UTSTARCOM WA3002G4 access point. My Laptop connects to internet through it, in insecure mode. And I am getting INTERNET fine.

But VIA Ethernet or LAN I cannot connect to BSNL internet via this UTSTARCOM WA3002G4 modem though it has 4 LAN ports. Also I want to connect 2/3 computers to NET via This Modem. Now my present problem is to connect internet via Ethernet Cable and this modem to my laptop...

Some configuration help needed in Admin or 192.168.1.1 section.. I need exact steps to connect it.

Use PPP/PPPoE mode "Always On" mode.
(Uncheck "bridged" in wan page. enter yourUserID/PW
in WAN page etc.
Enable DHCP in modem ( see in lan page)
( also enable NAT)
Save reboot wait for two minutes.
In computer:
All Systems
TCP/IP Properties
Obtain Ip address automatically.

Thanks forthe above reply... but in the mean time I found the solution. I had static IPs so it was not working. Then I saw DHCP enabled.. Where I saw?

Type 192.168.1.1 in web browser; this is the default address of MODEM. So u will see the admin screen. Type admin/admin as user/pass. Then Login.

Follow the links:
advance setup -> LAN

You will see it is checked "Enable DHCP Server"

So your computer will get iP address automatically. I am using VISTA so go to "Network and sharing centre" => Goto "manage network connections" => Right click "Local Area Connection" goto properties, select "TCP/Ipv4" and click properties button.

Select "Obtain IP address automatically"

VOILA.. Its done. Also if u have Laptop , Mobile with Wi fi you willsee that u are getting internet via LAN, Via Wi fi simultaneously.

But I have One More Query

If I assign static IP Address then what to select ? Is it :-

advance setup -> LAN

Checking : "Disable DHCP Server"...

If we use DHCP then how can we get other computers in our LAN/Wireless networks or share files among them using DHCP via Modem.?? Static IP LAN is helpful because we can access other computers via \\192.168.1.X , but what if we use DHCP?
