Default Unlimited ACT broadband Bangalore - anyone

    hi folks,
Came across ACT broadband ad today in the Bangalore newspaper, offering fiber to home (FTTH) broadband. They have three unlimited plans Rs. 599 + tax - 1Mbps till 15GB, beyond that 256 kbps, Rs. 849 + tax -2Mbps till 25GB, beyond that 256 kbps, Rs. 999 -5Mbps till 35GB, beyond that 256 kbps. One time installation charges of Rs. 500.

I am currently on airtel 999 + tax plan for the past 5 years and i can no longer stand their ridiculus FUP limits. basically the limit gets exceeded within a few days and i am left with 256 kbps speed connection. It was ok 5 years back but not in th year 2011. although ACT too does have FUP limits but they seem more generous than airtels. the ACT 999 plan caught my eye. Has anyone in Bangalore tried this ACT broadband? if so what has been the experience? really want to get rid of airtel 'cause of their very low FUP limit. any alternatives plz suggest. thanks.

Default bsnl broadband is much much better than ACT

    Hi folks,
“bsnl broadband is much much better than ACT”. guys never take a connection from ACT. as I mentioned the govt BSNL is far better than ACT. worst customer care. Before getting the connection, executives use to call me every day even after telling that BAS***D not to call. at last I thought to try the broadband, once after applying and paying the money, no communication from their side. after trying several days one fine day i got response that, they are coming on that day around 2:30. they are coming. i came to my house leaving all office works, found they are not here and after calling they said, evening they will come. this continued for 1 week, once after getting the connection. from the day 1 no proper connection,. disconnection every 10 minuts. tried calling customer care, excecutives. no response.

PLEASE FOLKS DONT TRY THIS CONNECTION. I FELT BSNL IS FAR BETTER THAN ACT. STILL PLANING TO GETTING RECONNECTION OF BSNL. havent tried airtels. if anyone tried in banaswadi area and any good review please do let me know

I am using ACT for one month, as the guy said its moneyback gruarntee, I opted for the broadband, you have to try whole day to get connected to the customer care, atlast after waiting for 1 hours. that to spending 1 hours mobile charge, I could get connected to customer care. I told them that I have registered the complaint for disconection and refund on august 21st, hes said no there is no such complaint, and he said he cant refund my money as I have used for few days,
please please dont ever try this broadband, I thought of disconecting bsnl, but I will go with bsnl. i dont know about airtel and other service. providers, but bsnl is 100% better than act. so you guys can imagine how worse it is. bsnl is been the worst provider. but if I had to rate bsnl and act. i have to rate minus rating. I tried mailing thorough act portal, but no use.

guys rather than writing like this, can we do something else to make these guys understand.P3Ka

    Unhappy ACT Broadband in Bangalore

ACT internet speed is very good but the customer service is very bad. U call them you wouldn get answer for your question. Their billing issue are pain full. they would have track of anything they offer you or what u pay. Bad customer service.

I am a similar victim of the stupid FUP stuff, which is actually a malpractice. I got fed up with Airtel over this and swtiched over to BSNL. Not that I'm now on cloud nine, but being a Public sector firm, they don't rip you off. Airtel really took my breath away and I have sworn myself never to go back to them either for mobile (dumped three years back) or internet (jan 2012). The only time they really get serious about a customer is when threatened with cancellation.I guess that is the only action their executives are called to account for. They really tested my patience even to get it cancelled - I had to answer 10-15 phone calls from various people, including the bloke who was to do the final rite of disconnection. What pissed me off completely was when I switched over to a 30Gb limit plan. i was told to my shock that the limit was exhausted even though I didn't use it even for a day. EVERY INDIAN BROADBAND PLAYER LEAVES A LOT TO BE DESIRED. FROM SERVICE LEVELS TO CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD IF THE SUPERPOWER OF A TRAI LOOKED AT THE ILL-TREATMENT OF CUSTOMERS BY TELCOS RATHER THAN GOING ON WITH THE MINDLESS 2G/3G SCAMS. very very disgusting

from what i hear - our customers itself harbor dreams of getting first world net connections!! India is a third world nation - its infrastructure is still taking off - a friend in Airtel call center once had a half hour ugly session when an IT engineer hurled abuses at her because he was promised a 2 Mbps connection and his speed test did not show a 2Mbps download speed!! We dont have the ethics or the patience to make the jobs of the Providers easier - but Attitude- we have lots thinking making a mush out of providers is the right thing to to!!

general impressions - we desis whine and moan and make life miserable for providers while paying pittance and expecting a world class service, like the Ignoramus who posted above this post!! Another impression for desi customers- the Grass is always greener on the other side. IF you take an average of all the poster's whinings here - half will say they left BSNL for Airtel because of rotten service - the other half will say the reverse.

Unfortunately, the above demographics is both the PROVIDERS have got an equal share of abuse from these migrating flock !!
If you don't like the customer service, become activists and fight the INDIAN GOVERNMENTS definition of broadband - a miserable 512 kbps - which essentially makes us one of the lousiest demographics on the planet in terms of broadband speed.

whining on this forum wont get either you any closure - nor is TRAI or Kapil Sibal reading your posts to make any difference!!

    Hi,

Please dont waste your time with ACT bb. They never kept up their commitment of installation.
Infact their sales guy (Murali) was very abusive when I asked on why he didnt keep up the commitment.

Cancelled my connection the next day after applying for one. No one seems to have taken the cancellation request forward.
Spoke to a supervisor at the cust care no. He listen to it and promised i would get a call back from their manager and a new connection in 48 hours.
Didnt get a call nor is the connection done.

Had to deal all over again with another Supervisor called Sudan who promised it will be up by 7pm. And now he tells me his team will reach later today.

PLEASE dont waste your time on ACT. They are nothing but a bunch of clowns. Guess they picked the wrong person to mess with.
Forwarding a complaint to TRAI (through my contacts there) and being a social media manager gonna set up a campaign to share my experience.

You havent heard the last of me ACT!

    Cheers
    Imran
