Rep Power: 1 | It depends on type of modem you are using. If your modem supports wireless, you can connect to internet through Airport on your MacBook. Even if you don't have wireless router, you can go and buy Apple Airport Express Base station and connect the Ethernet wire from your modem to Base station and enjoy wireless internet. |

Rep Power: 5 | Wireless protocol is the same everywhere - MacBooks and other Mac products work on the same Wireless A/B/G protocol. Any wireless enabled Mac will work with any wireless router, hotspot, Wimax, etc.

Rep Power: 0 | I was talking about using something like Tata Indicom's Plug2Surf thing... but I guess I might just wait until I get a proper flat and get a landline with a wireless router. |

Rep Power: 5 | This Plug2Surf device is a USB dongle, isn't it? If it can plug into the Mac, I think it should work. But you can visit the website and check specs. Sometimes they mention Windows only or Windows+Mac. |
