    I think so too, at least I want to be sure of what I m ordering for dinner if I go there. The south is a beautiful place and I wanna go there some day and I dont want to eat dosa all day.

    I also not like Dosa but we stay in south India for a month Yes some problem i have faced at Erode,Coimbatore area otherwise its' ok no problem at all i used to ordered our dinner in english or hindi they can little understand hindi also specially hotel staff but one problem i have faced in Coimbatore due to language i will discuss it in travel(share your travel experience) section

    my brother knows cause he lives in Bangluru past 2 years...
    yeah most people in Karnataka know Tamil

    In Coimbatore you should either know Tamil , Malayalam or English ..... I found Coimbatore to be a very traditional city ......

    In Chennai u can easily manage with English or Hindi [Not Malayalam tho]

    State - Major language
    TamilNadu - Tamil
    Kerala - Malayalam
    Maharashtra - Marathi
    Karnataka - Kannada
    Andhra -Telugu

    Tamil is also spoken in Malaysia and Singapore
