It’s Monday and again I gave my office a miss. As I am free so I thought why not share you a story which I heard from my dad who happened to hear that from one of the eye witness (Self claimed). The story goes like this...
It was mid July and the summer season was on its prime. Sun was playing hide and seek in the clouds. A gentle gust of wind was trying tirelessly to give people some respite from the scorching sun. Altogether it was a lovely day.
It was afternoon so there was almost no traffic on the road. North Indian summer afternoon comes with a warning that “Hey you better stay in the confines of your room or office, otherwise...” People go out only when it’s very urgent. A youth in his early thirties was riding a pulsar bike with his glares on. The eye witness whom I had talked about earlier is a medical representative (MR) by profession. His work demands to visit all the doctors in the allocated area. So this MR was almost 20-25 meters behind the pulsar guy braving the summer afternoon. Everything was just going on fine and then the unimaginable thing happened in a flash of time.
The pulsar guy abruptly applied brake and stopped his bike. It was pretty abnormal to stop one’s bike so abruptly on an empty road. The guy hurriedly put his hand inside his loose shirt and when he took his hand out, he was holding a snake. It was a medium sized snake and it was definitely alive. The guy, in his reflex action, tossed the snake in the air. When the snake was still in the air, another unimaginable thing happened. An eagle appeared from nowhere and clutched that snake into its claws and fled away.
The guy collapsed after this incident, probably due to snake venom. He was rushed to the nearby hospital. The MR had to move on because of his urgency so we didn’t know what happened to that guy.
Now if we fit the pieces we can only imagine what would have happened. The eagle must be flying clutching a live snake in his claws, probably to find a better place to eat or to feed the eaglets.
Somehow the eagle would have lost the grip and the snake fell and landed where it shouldn’t. The eagle too must have swooped down in order to reclaim its prey. When the guy took the snake out from under his shirt and tossed it away, the eagle just got hold of it and fled away.
This story makes me realize that we all are living on the edge. There’s a very fine line between life and death.
