I am from Andhra Pradesh nd i tired of airtel's SMS plans................RC 22 gives 2200 SMS only for 10 days and RC 24 gives 200 SMS's for 1 month......if airtel gives more SMS , iT reduces the validity nd vice versa......

So I had a doubt....... If I recharge with RC 22 , nd after 9 days (1 day b4 expiry) I recharge again wid RC 11 (50SMS for 15 days) , den , will my validity period increase?????
just thought of asking this b4 trying it out.......

Hi All.

I know there are countless threads on this topic, one posted this very day. But I'm still starting a new one because I have been facing this problem for nearly six months and have tried all solutions from other threads.

1. I got ALL the lines and cables changed from BSNL guys.
2. I checked the modem (ZTE 831 AII) at BSNL Broadband Help Desk.
3. I tried alternate modem provided by BSNL guys.
4. BSNL guys even provided me alternate splitter.
5. To top all this, the BSNL guys even changed the port at the exchange!

And if there is some other solution offered in other threads, it is more likely that I have tried it and just don't remember at this moment.

My SNR Margin and LINE ATTENUATION values are as follows:

========

Remote Line Attn 13.5 dB
Remote SNRMargin 6 dB

Local SNRMargin 22.0 dB
Local Line Attn 26.0 dB

A couple of points:
1. I don't know what is meant by "Local" and "Remote". Are they in any way related to what is referred to as "upstream" and "downstream"? Because I certainly didn't find any such thing in 'Broadband Line Status'.

2. Local SNR Margin value is in the vicinity of zero when the DSL link is about to break or is in the process of recovery.

========

My patience is now over and I'm thinking of getting a new and separate BSNL phone connection hoping that an entirely new setup will solve the problem. But before I do that I would like to make sure that there is absolutely no other option... and more importantly, I want to ensure that the problem is not due to something else which will continue even if I get a new connection.

Any words of advice/consolation will be very gratefully received.

P.S. My neighbour (occupying the flat next to me) also has BSNL Broadband, but does not face any such problem.

Hi bros

Seems like problems will never end for indian broadband users...

I have reliance wired BB plan(1mbps) from past 2 months.
The upload and download speed was pretty much same around that time. It was approx. 90-120 KBps all the time.

Now suddenly from past few days the upload speed has been reduced to half i.e. around 40-50 KBps only !!!! The download speed is same as before.

I am using all kinds of upload managers including FTP client. The upload speed is same in all of them.

Did reliance put any kind of restriction on uploads ???? Did anyone else experience the same problem in upload speed ??

Here is the pathetic snapshot. :(

DreamWeavers InfoCom, today announced the release of its healthcare website IndiaHeartBeat.Com, which is opined to be India's first medical...

DreamWeavers InfoCom, today announced the release of its healthcare website IndiaHeartBeat.Com, which is opined to be India's first medical networking & resource portal architectured on Web 2.0. The company already claims an established precedence in the medical tourism sphere through Medelines.Asia & now intends to inter-connect upto 400,000 physicians and specialists through this network, to provide a robust communication ground between the dispersed medical professionals and potential consumers. The users can hunt for prospective medical resources online, converse and interact with the healthcare experts, peers & exchange and share useful information and data in a secure environment. In addition, patients can access informative material, content & also upload & preserve their detailed case history online for instant access by proficient doctors across the country.

DreamWeavers InfoCom is headed by Mr. Vivek Aggarwal, a young enthusiast who believes in revolutionarizing the way in which healthcare is perceived & practised in India. According to the company, India is a land of opportunities and when it comes to healthcare, despite the steady progress there is a still a lot of internal gap in the medical landscape and hence accessbility becomes a challenge. Lack of a choice mechanism, rising economies, fraudulent practices & the inefficiencies inherent in the Indian medical system has worsened the scenario & the need for consumer education, awareness and knowledge has taken the front seat. With internet penetration growing at a horse's pace in India, the digital media can offer a host of solutions to cater to the needs of the medical world.

"Healthcare is one need which connects every individual irrespective of his/her demographic or geographic profile & hence we endeavor to build the largest network of physicians & countrymen in the time ahead", adds Mr. Aggarwal.

The company has already garnered the first mover advantage in this space and currently boasts of a network strength of over 50,000 physicians from India. Further, it is spearheading to extend its visibility amongst the set of telecom users in the country by offering a multitude of value added services corresponding to mobile technologies. With this kind of an innovative approach of making remarkable in-roads in the health-tech sector, India can now hope of becoming the most sigficant medical destination in the world, both qualitatively & quantitatively.

The BSNL 3G data card card gives blazing fast speeds but comes with a downside...It gets disconnected frequently! This way you cannot fire and forget...

The BSNL 3G data card card gives blazing fast speeds but comes with a downside...It gets disconnected frequently! This way you cannot fire and forget your downloads. It may get disconnected as soon as it see's your back.

There is workaround for this problem. That is to use windows dial-up.

This works for me and should work for you, still DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!. I dont take any responsibilty of something going wrong to your system.

1) I assume that you have installed the bundled software inside the USB 3G data card and you can connect the 3G internet form it AND the device is connected to the system.

2) Open Device Manager. The "HSPADataCard USB Modem" should be listed there. Right click to open properties. In the open window choose the "Advanced" tab. In the 'extra initialization commands:' enter at+cgdcont=1,"IP","bsnlnet". click OK to close the window.
image:
Find attached images

3) From Control Panel open "Network and Sharing Center". From the left hand pane click "Change Adapter Settings". You should see a dial-up connection for your 3G Modem.Right click and choose properties. Select the "General" Tab. In the Phone Number box enter *99# Create a shortcut to the dial-up connection on your desktop. (If not you will have to create Dial-up connection in "Network and Sharing Center". See bottom of the post)

image:
Find attached images

4) Select the "Options" tab make changes as follows :

Check "Display progress while connecting"
Uncheck all others.
Enter "Redial attempts" 99
Enter "Time between redial attempts" 1 Second
Enter "Idle time before hanging "never"

Check "Redial if line is dropped"

Click OK
image:
Find attached images

DONE!
Right Click the dial-up connection and click "Connect"
Your internet should be running now.

Now windows automatically attempts to connects to the modem if line is dropped.

Note: Dont connect through your BSNL software! It should stay running in the background. you may minimize it to sys tray.

[To Create Dial-up connection open "Network and Sharing Center". Click "Setup a new connection or network". Click next. Follow the instructions. Enter phone no as *99# when prompted. Leave username and password blank when prompted.]

When my tenant approached me regarding a new broadband connection I recommended him BSNL broadband as I have been using it since October, 2007, and getting good download speeds. He applied for a new phone connection which was provided in a day thereafter application for provision of broadband service which was made and the same is also provided after 3 days i.e. on the 1 st of September, 2010. Broadband plan opted is BBG FN COMBO 500(500 C).

After the broadband TTA(installation person) came and installed we checked the speed on speedtest.net and speedtest for tripleplay customers on dataone.in we found that download speed is only 512 kilo bits per second. And informed the broadband TTA, he said that use it and raise a complaint with a local number but even after a week he is getting around 512 kilo bits per second or around 60 Kilo Bytes Per Second.

His line stats are as follows:-

SNR margin downstream 39.0db 28.0 db
Line attenuation 9.0db 8.0 db
Down stream data rate 1996kbps 383kbps

Only one telephone after the splitter. All connections are ok. Selfcare portal is showing that plan is BBG FN COMBO 500.

What might be wrong? Your help is needed?
