It is requested that I had a mobile phone no.9411100328 which was connected on 7th Aug 2009 with GPRS facility but internet service was provided on19th sept. 2009. This service was quite unsatisfactory, so, on 11th sept.2009 I requested to disconnect this connection permanently. My mobile no.9411100328 was disconnected on 17th sep.2009.

I was shocked to receive the Bill of Rs. 2, 27,194.00 for just 18 days i.e from 19/08/2009 to 5/09/2009. The bill shows 24hrs. Black berry net working continues only. It is interesting that the credit-limit Rs.1000.00 has been shown in the bill. No intimation was given to my regarding the heavy amount bill. I hardly used this service.

On oct.28, 2009 I received next bill of Rs. 64,004.00 without any call details or specific time. Total amount shown in the bill is Rs.2, 91,198.00.

I tried to talk to Senior Officials but nobody is ready to listen and neither had they responded my application of enquiry about this heavy billing. Their answer about my application under Right to Information Act is very unclear and they missed too many points.

I am a retired 72 years old person, me and my wife is under immense pressure. I visited Hardwar office manytimes from Roorkee. They tried to thrend me through phone calls like I am criminal. I am sure the usage of internet must be done by somebody else and their staff is involve in my internet security breach. Please help me.

Please help me to discard this fake bill and penalize the real person behind this scam

Can they charge more than my credit limit of Rs. 1000??

Airtel 3G plans

Airtel 3G plans

Those who have Airtel 2G and wish to migrate to 3G have to wait till Deepawali 2010. Yes, Airtel who has launched 3G on experimental basis in Bangalore this year would be launching the 3G in full swing in major metros and other areas by around October 2010. Airtel has not announced any tariff plans for postpaid and prepaid connections but they are targeting to put forward tariffs lower than BSNL or MTNL to grab a great share of the market.

And with their launch there won’t be any sort of super connection of sort from the Airtel 3G. If the government delays auction of the 3G there is possibility that the launch of Airtel 3G would be delayed and everything that would be unfolded would be delayed. Airtel has already delayed the iPhone 3G in its fold and it would be really good deal to have such deals with their 3G connectivity.

What are the conditions of using the Airtel iPhone 3G?

* This phone can only be used with an Airtel connection. All your benefits/warranties are null and void if one unlocks the phone before 12 months.

* Free 500 MB of data download/month for 12 months. Charges after free usage are Re. 0.60 / 100 KB. This offer is not valid if used on any other phone.

* To activate this Data Plan, you need to request the helpdesk at any Airtel store.

Few days back the Economic Times of India has reported that the Airtel has actually launched their Airtel 3G services on test basis in cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. Sanjay Kapoor, Bharti Airtel President (Mobility) told PTI, “We have tested 3G applications at three places – Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore – on a trial indoor spectrum given to us,”

Since the announcement was made by the Department of Telecommunications to allocate the 3G spectrum by auctioning, the major players have geared up to provide 3G access to its subscribers in the cities. Airtel has actually refused on a press meet to give details regarding their network vendors and they only said that they would be dealing with more than one network companies for the spectrum of 3G.

On putting the question whether Airtel has the right technology for 3G services in the cities or not, Kapoor replied, “We as an operator have 3G services in Seychelles. Our license for Sri Lanka is for 3G services as well and by the time 3G services are launched in India we will have enough experience. Moreover, we have SingTel as our partner who has wide experience of offering 3G services,”

The 3G seems to be of great buzz to country like India but there are operators in countries like China who are testing 4G services. China has already decided to move to 4G bypassing the 3G completely. So we need to move really fast in this segment and make a mark.

India is in a position yet to complete the auction of licenses for the 3G spectrum. Though in telecommunication the 3G services are still waiting, Airtel has already provided 3G wireless USB broadband services to its customers. The USB modem is available for just Rs 3,499 for both post paid and prepaid options. With the 3G USB broadband data card one can access the web with a speed of nearly 3.6 Mbps which is amazing. You can get the 3G USB modem through Airtel Relationship Centers in India.

Few Reliable Mobile broadband service plans

Few Reliable Mobile broadband service plans
The mobile broadband plans in India and across the globe have seen a huge surge growth since last few years and now they are becoming more popular. One doesn’t wish to get stuck to bundle of wires and want internet access when one is on the go! People really wish to be mobile with the web. Whether you are traveling on trail or on board of a bus or taxi they wish to remain connected to people in the office, social community site and others.
Mobile broadband plans in India are brought by the giant players like – Airtel, Reliance, BSNL, and TATAINDICOM. Let us have a look at the various mobile broadband service plans offered by them:

Airtel Data Card Broadband Service: The wireless Airtel data card is for prepaid users in various cities across India that will enable one to have connectivity even in some remotest places in the nation. Whether you use a laptop, notebook, or personal computer you can connect to internet round the clock with such a data card while you are on the move. This data card from Airtel really makes you mobile and visible wherever you are in your social networking sites. So even if you are on a business tour or holiday to any corner of the country you can remain in touch with your friends and share with them the immediate developments that took place in your present place.

BSNL Data Card Broadband Service: If you are really hunting for a fast broadband internet connection and wish that it can provide you uninterrupted browsing facility even when you are traveling then get the latest BSNL EVDO wireless broadband connectivity. Have peace of mind with this internet connectivity which is now available in major cities across the nation and provides roaming to most destinations throughout India. Theoretically the EVDO can provide you a speed of 2.4 Mbps with Rev 0 and 3.1 Mbps with Rev A. It is the most feasible internet application for both computers and laptops. You can travel to any corner of the country and if there is BSNL network you are blessed to get internet connection. BSNL EVDO uses radiosignals for wireless transmission of data, typically for broadband internet access and also uses techniques like Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) as well as the Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) to maximize the individual user’s throughput and overall system.

Reliance Mobile Broadband Service: Reliance claims that connectivity of Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ is nearly 20 times faster than all other internet service provided by such CDMA service modems and other data card services. Compared to other EDGE-GPRS or like TATA PHOTON services the Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ is faster and can provide download speed of 3.1 Mbps and 1.8 Mbps upload.

The good part of Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ is that Reliance has made provision for it across 35 cities in the nation including few low profile cities like Kakinada, Guntur and others.

TATA Photon Mobile Broadband Service: Unlike other USB modems or data cards whose speed depends at the time of the day, the web page that is being accessed and other factors, the Tata Photo+ gives you uninterrupted speed regardless of all these factors. You don’t have to get bothered by peak hours or similar things. Only required criteria are that you should get a good signal and network coverage. Subscribe the Tata Photon+ and enjoy hassle free internet access!
The USB Modem from Tata Photon+ is available for sale like the BSNL USB Modems and can be used under rental models. The plans start at minimum as low as Rs.500 to Rs.1500 per month apart from the price of the USB modem which is charged Rs.36000 at one time only. For Rs.500 plan you get free browsing but download of 0.5 GB only whereas for Rs.1500 plan you get free browsing plus 15 GB download per month. The Tata Photon+ also comes with small plans like Use N Pay plan where you just have to pay monthly rental of Rs.250 only and the rest is billed based on your usage!

Fastest broadband Service in India

Over the years India has seen a drastic change in the world of web browsing with major giants leaping in providing ISP services and offering competitive pricing internet service. And in the race of providing the fastest broadband service in India the one which wins the race is definitely the BSNL. The company a joint venture of Indian Government and Tata has been able to offer 8 Mbps speed connection and is being considered the fastest home/business broadband connection in India.

This fastest broadband connection service is offered with the name DATA-One which is a wireless connection and at present they have introduced the EVDO technology of wireless internet access that offers the speed promised to consumers. BSNL has the largest PSTN network which enables them to offer the fastest speed of broadband connection. They have launched the 8 Mbps speed in December 2007 and after that they gradually improved the connectivity and plans. Today it is considered not only the fastest broadband service but also the cheapest broadband service in entire India.

Download Speed at the rate of 2.4 Mbps:
Theoretically the EVDO can provide you a speed of 2.4 Mbps with Rev 0 and 3.1 Mbps with Rev A. It is the most feasible internet application for both computers and laptops. You can travel to any corner of the country and if there is BSNL network you are blessed to get internet connection. BSNL EVDO uses radiosignals for wireless transmission of data, typically for broadband internet access and also uses techniques like Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) as well as the Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) to maximize the individual user’s throughput and overall system.

You will need to buy the BSNL EVDO card for internet access. You have to purchase the card at cost of Rs. 3500 at one time charge. There is no need to make any monthly rentals for the card. Only you have to pay for the prepaid or the post paid tariff for the service that you. The tariff and pricing per GB differs from cities to cities in India. But the pricing remains somewhere between Rs. 450-600 per month for 2.4 mbps speed and Rs. 500-700 for 3.4 Mbps speed.
If you are really hunting for a fast broadband internet connection and wish that it can provide you uninterrupted browsing facility even when you are traveling then get the latest BSNL EVDO wireless broadband connectivity. Have peace of mind with this internet connectivity which is now available in major cities across the nation and provides roaming to most destinations throughout India.

BSNL Tariff for EVDO:
There are two plans for the broadband wireless connection. One is the monthly rental and the other is prepaid purchase amount. The cost of the device of EVDO modem is Rs. 3,500 (get the best offers that may be available as promotion and others). The given below table indicates the plans of wireless BSNL Broadband tariff:
Network Type
CDMA 1x 144 Kbps Unlimited 250 + 200 + Tax 250 Rs
EVDO 2.4 Mbps Unlimited 550 + 200 + Tax 550 Rs

Hi guys, I happened to use reliance netconnect borrowed from a friend in Ahmadabad for 3 days.. I also borrowed tata photon+ to see if reliance doesn't work, I can switch to tata, at least one of them should work :D.

I reached home at night and it took me hell lot of time to get reliance netconnect working, only to realize that reliance becomes very slow, when the signal changes to CDMA from "HYBRID". so I searched for the corner where the signal is good and remains Hybrid. The signal used to be good at night and it used to go CDMA during the day. I had a nightmare trying to make it work.

I also tried tata photon+ and technology wise, there's not much difference.

There are few things which need to be understood.. it depends on the area where you're staying and the number of subscribers in that area, not to mention the traffic load. This technology is still new in the indian market. if you take your card outside the city or to another city, and the signals are not consistent there, then god help you. you would be cursing this small piece like anything :)

I heard that tata provides better service than reliance but I haven't experienced it personally.

Buy & use EV-DO Data card Huawei EC 168 C on Tata Photon+,...

Buy & use EV-DO Data card Huawei EC 168 C on Tata Photon+, Reliance, & US Carrier

Buy & use EV-DO Data card Huawei EC 168 C on Tata Photon+, Reliance , BSNL & US Carrier (Alltell, Verizon)

SHOP:

Anyone here have a Reliance / Tata bought Huawei EC 168 that they would like to sell ?

INVESTIGATE:

I am based between US / India, and my business related travel brings me back & forth between the US and India. We provide strategy & solutions for international businesses that want to work across US/India.

I have a Huawei EC 168 C that I use for mobile broadband access in the US via Alltel / Verizon.

I see that TataIndicom Photon+ / Reliance NetConnect Broadband Plus services both use the same card so I do not see any reason or point in purchasing another of the same.
Note: I believe Tata, Reliance & Alltell / Verizon (US) currently or in the past have used the Huawei EC 168 EVDO USB Data Card.

We have several Senior folks who travel back & forth and would like to be able to do the same to make this easy.

We do not want to have to buy 3 cards from each ISP when the hardware is the same.

Is this something I can do easily with Software / Dialer / Simple Config file or do I have to do a Hack / Flash / ESN etc change?

What are the possibilities?

QUESTIONS:

Would it be possible to set up & use this card with 2 ISPs in India?

If so, how can I go about doing it... and who should I talk to within the Tata / Reliance Tech departments?

I am guessing the guys at the local stores & service centers may or may not be able to make this happen? Or if they can... then how?

Can I self service (tech / networking consulting background) and do this install if you can provide configuration information once an account can be set up / ordered?

Could it be possible to purchase a local EC 168 C from Reliance / Tata and then figure out if it could be flexibly used for all : Tata, Reliance, BSNL & US Carrier (Alltell / Verizon).

THOUGHTS?
