Delhi Secretariat has installed touch screen computers at the reception to give information to the Visitors about the Government. But these machines are lying in dust for the past two years. They are not functional anymore and the visitors have to wait in long queues to get the information from the officials at the reception. Lots of funds are utilized for the installation of these machines but without proper maintenance and care they lie as waste in one corner. The officials say that the information in the computers is not updates so they are not being used, but then who is going to update the systems? If the government has started something it should maintain the same for use.

The main feature of the Web Based Training is that the content of the training is always updated and also it can be easily updated. This is the biggest benefit of the Web Based Training. Keeping in mind the speedy business environment in today’s world this feature of the Web Based Training stands high importance as the training programs keep changing very often. In CD-ROM and any other form of training this is very difficult and time consuming as the content has to be distributed to all the users. But in Web Based Training when ever you connect to the training program you automatically get the latest version of the training. This helps the user to be updated with latest changes in the required information and topics.

Everything in this world comes with positive and negative points. Similarly Web Based Training also has its share of disadvantages and limitations. The engineers are trying their best to overcome these problems and we hope they will be rectified soon. The main limitation of the Web Based Training is that there is no human contact and the lack of this aspect has great impact on learning and training. Then the Web Based Training has no live workshop that the users can attend as a group which is possible in the traditional way of training and learning or the CD-ROM learning. In Web Based Training by using a web connection you can e-mail to other students, post your comments about the training on message boards and chat through video conference links but still the keeps you away from a live work shop.

Web-based Learning or Web-based training when is when the training or the learning process is carried out over the internet by joining a session that is designed for the same. If we compare it to the traditional training method that was done by an instructor this is much easier and convenient as all those who desire to be a part of the training need not have to gather under one roof. People at different locations can be a part of the same training on the web by logging in to the training session as per the details provided by the trainer or the organizer. You also have the option to keep the training self-paced and interactive. Web-based Learning or training also reduces the cost that one has to incur on infrastructure and travel.
