    Oh, which beer ain't bitter?!

Agreed that guinness is an acquired taste, try having it with non-spicy food and it might not taste all that bitter!

As for me, I just love the aroma and the taste and that slightly bitter coffe-ish aftertaste that it leaves behind. In fact, there have been quite a few mornings when I've woken up and my roommate was like "dude, you smell of some kind of coffee"!!! :-)

And lot of people like to think guiness is a particularly strong beer (probably, because of the way it looks!). However, the fact is, it has got less alchohol than some of the lagers! And yes, it is non-gassy unlike lagers!

Yep...Guiness does it for me as well. Was my preferred brand bak in the US.
Kingfisher sucks though. I don't like the flavour nor do i like the owner. Haywards 5000 is the way to go for Indian beers. Carlsberg is pretty decent as well. In one of the earlier notes, someone mentioned Hayman 9000. I think HeMan 9000 was what he meant. Thats a decent beer as well..

    5. Carling

Of course, I am no connoseaur.
    in order of preference: -
    1) Budweiser
    2) Heineken
    3) Corona (too costly, if friends sponsor, then this is 1st choice)
    4) Fosters
    5) any Pilsner beer (non Indian)
    6) London Pilsner
    7) Asahi (too bitter)

    haven't tried carling, or guiness.
