Use this thread to discuss nightlife in the cities u've lived or visited so far...

Some parameters-

What u like/dislike about the nightlife of that city?

What is the duration of nightlife in that city for u and in general?

Which are the places/pubs/lounge/discs/food joints etc. u visit after hours? And why?

If u just go on drive in or around the city... mention the places(highways)...

What is the safety index of that city after hours? Rate it on a scale of 10...

Till what time pubs, discs, bars, restaurants are allowed to remain open by local authorities?

In short, write anything u want to describe the night life of that city in your opinion... And share with us how u enjoy it...

the only thing you need here is 100 rupee note for cops and after that do whatever you want

as you all know i am nite animal and enjoy my life at nite only (means i don't sleep at nite) so got some good pics of delhi and got lot many places for meets and eat outs

Pune has a huge college age population and young working pros and the night-scene is more targeted towards them... Its a very cosmopolitan crowd from around the world... Apart from Indians, Iranis, Mauritians, Afro-Americans, people from SAARC countries & many from Europe(Thanks to Osho Ashram) form the colorful ambiance of clubs & discs at Pune...

You can find various means of seeking amusement in Pune, but it is the nightlife that will make you shake your hips with a mug of beer... Nightlife in Pune is truly fabulous... There are some popular nightclubs in Pune, who, with their live performances, exotic drinks and beverages, prove to be the best places for seeking entertainment... People dressed in colorful and the trendiest of outfits can be seen thronging the clubs of the city... Nightlife in Pune gives one a clear picture about the culture and the lifestyle of the people of the city...

Some of the Nightclubs in Pune, where you can get a feel of the nightlife in Pune, are as follows:

Club Polaris, Hotel Taj Blue Diamond in Koregaon Park.

Ten Downing Street at Dhole Patil road.

Scream at Le Meridian.

Leather Lounge at MG road.

Apache at 3 places I know- Chandani Chawk, F.C. road, Apte road... And there r many more which I'll discuss in Pub section...

Its not hard to find party places in Pune... Many times I would walk up to the kids hanging around outside "Marz-O-Rin" at MG Road or the ice-cream parlour at F.C. Road and say: "Where's the paaarty yaar?"

Largely the party scene is also a bit incestuous , if you got to know some people in Pune it would help...

There are parties in the Ashram (Osho) but you have to be a member to get to the ones inside... There are also private parties outside the ashram but you have to know who's who to find out... If you go to German Bakery(near Ashram) and hang out for a while you will come to know...

Many times I would go on a drive with my friends at Mumbai-Pune highway... There are loads of Punjabi dhaabas who remain open & play music all night... Like Veer-da-dhaaba, Tinku-da-dhaaba, Bappi-da-dhaaba, Tony-da-dhaaba...

A trip to khadagwasla dam or Sinhagad fort with a group of friends after midnight is very adventurous... But yes, its risky too... Thats why the thrill... A complete no for girls(but still few go)...

Therez almost negligible cop's interference... Normally whenever a new Police commissioner is appointed for the city... he tries to enforce some strict policies... but there is something in the air of Pune that after a couple of months everything cools down and Pune returns back to become vivacious & happening city...

Cuz of very low crime rate within the city... I'll give Pune 9 out of 10 on safety index... It Rocks...

One place I ve enjoyed night life apart from GOA - Mumbai - vegas - singapore is Cardiff.....!

I studied in this small town in Wales, UK......! Cardiff is called a student town as there are 3 uni's arnd da town n all u ve is students in all parts of the cities.....!

Nyt lyf here is like almost 5-6 days a week....liek it was tues - Cuba / Jumpin Jacks , Wed - Bar Reesa, Thursday - Liquids, Fri/Sat. - Creations..... !!!!

All da clubs around had their own fun ....like cuba had greek n arabic touch....n the drinks were damn cheap..... jumpin jacks was more like a lounge kinds....., Bar Reesa gave da feel of bein in South Africa...n da music was also similar to R & B.... Liquids had more or less R & B n hip hop.....
n creations the best one had 3 clubs ranging from soft rock/pop, hip hop & a lounge.....!!!!

Couple of other lounges n pubs were Llyods, Black weir....

It was a weekly routine to go to these places....n apart from these the amazing food tht one gets at night ..... local places jus spice it....!!!!

One more place to b in there is the Cardiff Bay......the feel is soo damn beautful....sitting on da Bay....under the moon....jus lovely.....!!!! Also there was a place near by called BUTE Park...where da river flowed n it was soo silent n nice to sit there....specially wid ur loved ones or special ones.....

Also, Sheesha's r a rage in UK.....we had these amazing arabic place in town.....which was like totally wow....n belly dancers arnd....n mind u.....alll da guys wud jus go crazy.......wid their mouth open.....lol.....!!!!

Wow sounds like Cardiff is the place to be then, seems very outgoing and fun.

Seems like you really enjoyed the place, i bet u miss it too!

Well regarding night life in Delhi it is good, but its not safe especially for girls, so it makes you want to think twice before going out, unless your in a big group or something!

But i think that Chandigarh is one of the best places I've been to when talking about night life. Its safe, good crowds and decent places to go to!

I've been to Chandigarh once... and I think I saw most well-planned and clean city in India so far... and crowd was good too... but few guys were like we have everywhere in India... teasing pretty girls....

yes preeti.....damn i miss tht place.....soo much..! n we had dis amazing frens.....n the most hot n cute lookin greek guys n even sum indian guys......was soo much fun flirting wid dem....but it was very safe.....there coz every other face wud b known .......

n madz.....for the snaps....i ve sooo many snaps....i wudnt stop showin it to u......sum of em u wud ve seen by now....!!!!

yeh thats a common thing everywhere India which can not be avoided, but i think its less in Chandigarh as compared to other places!

lol... U know what happened with me? I went to manali via chandigarh with few friends from my school... We stayed in Chandigarh for 1 day... In Chandigarh one of the places I went was sukhna lake... It was beautiful with beautiful crowd... I was just marveling about the good things including culture of the city to my friends... The moment I finished my sentence praising culture of city.... Few local guys passed comments on a single girl... And my every friend started laughing on me... And I was embarrassed... It happens a lot in my hometown too... And perhaps most in Delhi(i've seen)... From that day I hate eve-teasers... I've been involved in fights for couple of times when they have commented on my female friends accompanying me...

I totally agrees what you say...but I was talking about the comparison...it happens less here in chandigarh...else eve-teasers are everywhere

Yeah... Obviously Chandigarh is safest in north India... Like Pune in Maharashtra for girls...

I am in Delhi these days and in Delhi my opinion is that nightlife is best avoided... Its pretty dull any way with outdated music at every other place and the crowd however educated or posh they may look wont let a chance to eve tease go past them...

Yeh I hate to say that I feel unsafe in Delhi and most guys carry guns at night... ... but I wouldnt really like to be under the same roof where people get drunk with a gun tucked under their belt Its a bad bad world here isint it?

Yeh most of you wont agree with me coz you havent probbably seen the underbelly of delhi.
Things have improved but to be honest I get stressed with too many people around me here in Delhi ...

The best nightlife I have seen is at LA and Vagas but then I kind of felt out of place there although atmosphere used to be wonderfull and there was no hint of racism in those places where I used to hang around.

The best place for me being a desi has always been the desi clubs in London ... thos near hayes and southall.. its pretty safe and you would feel at home with all those punjabi numbers playing..

There are a few night clubs here in Delhi in some five star hotels but I never liked them for a simple reason that I dont fit into that crowd that comes there... I am more into relaxed and cosy kind of places..


All in all I am not a party animal that I used to be... I think thats what keeps me away from going out at night too much here in Delhi.

I am not sure about LA but Southall rocks
I think London is the best place for nite out, all decent people and no one cares who you are and which region or religion you belong to

I never prefer any 5star for nite out or party coz i think they simply run behind money and there is no point to pay 400-500 rupees for a single peg of dark rum when you can get a full bottle for 210 from any wine shop

Damn London yea.....its like one of the best places.....!!!! not been in london for a long time but wheneva i ve been there arnd weekend...its party time...n its safe...!!!! neva been to southhall or wembley.....but sum nite clubs @ croydon n central london r jus amazing...!!! nyone been to ministry of Sound.....!!! nothin can beat tht...!!!!

n than those amazing food @ nite.....jus yumm.....!!!!

I liked even nites in KL.....though u dont find lot of amazing crowd but guys wud surely enjoy those chinki chicks....!!!! I mean the way my frens hit on em.....no doubt thy were pretty....but jus make sure u dont end up wid lady boys....!!! Precautinary warning....!!!! Its there all around...Malaysia, Indonesia n Thailand!!!!
