As from my previous posts some of you may probably know i totally love bhangra!

How many of your guys listen to bhangra or like bhangra!

I think Manish likes it!!!!!!!!

Its in blood dear..My mom belongs to a Sikh family so as my wife...my father comes from a Punjabi family...

By the way..when I say Bhangra..I include all kind of punjabi songs in it...from loud beat to decent slow.

I love bhangra as well... Infact I enjoy Punjabi music whenever therez a dance floor for bhangra...

even i like bhangra.. :clap:

when i was in school i use to perform on stage and after school continued this for some time

now i like to see people dancing on road in all punjabi marriages :lol:

Then loving bhangra comes naturally to you then! Manish you and me have so much in common, i think, you sure your not related to me or something!!!!!!!!

@itsmemad, when ever bhangra is played it always wants to make you dance!

i even like giddha and bolyian which is something traditional in punjab, giddha is a dance done by girls and boliyan well you can say are types of songs sung by women and generally done to giddha!

I love the old skool bhangra, as well as the new bhangra and uk bhangra too.

So who are you favourite singers guys!

Well, daler mehandi is much adored in my home-state... cuz he was born in Patnacity(on the out skirts of Patna)... and his songs always appeal to the masses... Apart from him I like Sukhwinder Singh, remixes of bally sagoo... Punjabi MC's, "Mundiya tu bach k rahi" is still my favorite bhangra song... British Band "Swami" is kool...

I like bhangra tunes cuz of one more reason... It mixes very well with hip-hop...

BHANGRA......well by saying it......only one wants to dance with all the full on energy....!!!!


yea i agree its a lot of fun to do it....though its been pretty modernised.....da dance n da punjabi nos.....tht we listen tooo!Although there wud be sum traditional songs as well which we wudnt b aware of.....(Non punjabis n all)) !!! Still i love da energy they have in them....n i love to dance on it....!!!

I am a learnt dancer (Folk) but its more of garba's, dandiyas, lavanis, influenced more by western India......I ve also done gidha a 2-3 times....in shows n stuff......!!! but i really doubt tht was it like a perfect - total gidha or not.....!!!!!

nyways in short.....its fun to dance on it....!!!! my fav. singers...r sukhwinder singh, jazzy b, dr. zeus, n lots more....!

As I have told before..I love all punjabi songs from high Dhol beat, hip hop to decent slow....regarding my fav singers I don't have any one special, i mean i love all good songs..l love some numbers from Manmohan waris like "Hichkiyan", and his songs from "Punjabi Virsa 2007", Daler Mehndi Rocks always as maddy said, I love some no. of Babbu Mann, Gurdass mann, Harbhajan Mann, Sahotas and Safri Boys-Infact safri i like alot esp. Raahe Raahe..you heard that...such a lovely one..oh so many i can't even write them all..bottom line all of them

I don't specifically like a particular singer, group or bhangra group, as i have a wide choice of likes in bhangra songs and singers, whether old singers, new singers from Punjab or UK Bhangra.

Some of the ones I like include, the late Surjit Bindrakia, Surinder Shinda, Jazzy Bains, Malkit Singh, Sarabjit Cheema, Manmohan Waris, Gurdas Maan, Babbu Maan, RDB, DJ Vix, Bally Jagpal, Dr Zeus, Punjabi MC, Aman Hayer, Lember Hussianpuri, Rishi Rich, Kuldeep Manak and many others! Basically i like a majority of the bhangra and Punjabi songs, apart from the really sad and crap songs (you know what i mean by those)

I think some of Miss Pooja songs are ok but not too fond of them!

Oh yes..I forgot to mention Lember Hussianpuri's Manke,,one of my fav

do we get any cds where in thy teach proper bhangra n gidha....?????

Im not sure if you can get dvd's to learn bhangra or giddha as its a cultural thing, i haven't really heard of any dvd's which provide lessons to learning giddha or bhangra!

I think the best thing will be if you learn from a friend who knows bhangra or gidda, or just watch bhangra and giddha videos and gradually learn the style and steps of dancing!

Yeh i heard that, its ok, but tell you truth don't really like it!

I have not listened to anything as recent though, but currently i like the song Punjaban by Punjabi MC, from his new album Indian Timing! You heard this one!

I think if you are really intrested then you can join some dance school..can't say about gidha but bhangra for sure...yes bhangra is also for girls.

Yeh heard this one, used to listen to a lot of Safri songs, i used to like his song, Chan Mere Makhna too.

I don't really have a favourite as i love so many different bhangra songs!

I never knew this that "Chan mere makhna" is also from Safris. Because the one which I have heard/have is by a female singer from Pakistan, don't know her name and she is not hadiqa.

The Safri one is the original one, and the one sang by the female singer Hadiqa is a copy!

I will shortly put a small list of some of the songs i like, i cant call them favourite as I have no particular favourite, every bhangra song is quite different in its own way, (but when i say i like them it means i like them alot)

This is a good one, but its quite old now, sometimes i think people really forget the old ones and are always after the new songs!

But at times listening to the old bhangra songs is good!

i love teh dance more than the songs!! its so full of life... the latest song from dostana..ma da laadla ..i love the bhangra beats in it !!

yeh thats a nice song if thinking in bhangra terms, but the ducky voice really ruins it!
