    Default Which champagne?

    Hello Guys,
My friend's marriage is getting near, so we are having a party.
Thinking of gifting him a champagne bottle

Till now i havn't tried any champagne brand, so need recommendations.

Had champagne two times earlier, but didn't know which brand it was, as i was drunk

    Also, point out the cost

If u want Authentic stuff get the French ones not the american imports ...... Strictly speaking American imports are clear water and not champagne

    Try

    Moët et Chandon

I hope u r aware that champagne is costly

Champagne is only made in France. Champagne is a Trade Mark and not a type of wine. No one outside the Chnapagne region of France can make such a wine and market/sell it as Champagne. Champagne belongs to the class of wines known as sparkling white wine.

Champagne or Sparkling White Wines come at various costs - right from $10 to $4000+. It all depends upon the quality of the grapes of that season. Note that in case of any wine, including Sparkling White Wine, the age of the wine does not matter. A 2002 wine bottle, for instance, may be costlier than a 1998 product.

Sparkling White Wines are also made in India by wineries around Nashik. But most are sold for export as India Sparkling White Wine. Sparkling White Wines are sold in India too at most wine shops. A bottle is usually priced around Rs. 1500/- to Rs. 1800/- and these are the really cheap quality that sell arounf $10~15 in US. Authentic French Champagne is quite costly.

Gary, if you are gifting it to your friend then please don't look at the price. just think of your friend, a little costly champagne could make him happy and satisfied. Hope you will understand what i want to say.
