Thread: Making new Online Friends

These days its not easy to make good friends, and sometimes because your in the same friends circle or don't go out much it becomes even more difficult.

One of the best ways to making friends or getting to know someone is from websites either social networking ones or ones which are designed for making friends. There are lots of sites, but only some good and reputed ones, which i don't obviously know of, so let me know of any so i can pass these onto someone.

pls be very careful.......while making online frens......

its always better to make frens first atleast meet em once somewhr n than only go ahead with this social networking....its very risky....

try explaining that to my friend!!!!!!! But thats why i asked for any good sites, and i she did say she wouldn't meet anyone just chat!

in that case you can give her my AOL, Gtalk, Y!Messanger or Live ID

ok then you can ask her to come here and make friends, this place is far much better than those social network sites

again its the matter of trust n how much u want to make a new fren online??

worth a try....

u may a lot of times make a good fren....but b careful coz one mistake in knowing the other person would lead to unknown consequences.....

i ve been lucky tht ways ......till now whteva online frens i ve made r thru orkut & FB n the first fren online was thru channel V chat room....say in 1999 ....n thy r all my frens till date n ve met em all.....

incl on IBB ..... i ve met toothie only from here.....

yeh then i should tell her to stay away from your id's!!!!!!

you know i never thought of this place as being for making friends!!!! Will let her know should be more interesting to her now because of this lounge section as shes not too techie either!

@ Mad - i totally forgot about the forum.....

@ Aashaka - yeh its sheer luck sometimes on who you know and what they are like, i suppose meeting up always comes at the end, its a bad bad world out there!

Generally Tech related forums are always filled with members who know too much and so are very ego-istical includig the mods themselves ..... I think this forum is the only exception , atleast among Indian forums ......

That being said online friends can never replace your everyday friends .... so she should invest some time in getting good friends offline ......

Generally my thumb rule is never to bank on internet for finding friends ...... many psychopaths love to use the internet to latch on to innocent victims online as it provides them with anonymity ...... internet crime is seriously on the rise

i m glad i ve found a lot of good frens on this forum n i ve met toothie.....n i speak to him regularly.....also...i would love to meet everyone ......sometime in life when i travel..... hopefully....

theres nothing wrong in it.....only thing is pls jus dont get too personal with the person till u kno him / her totally......

obviously ur everyday frens r alltoagther a diff thing but u can always include ppl u want to b frens with there also.....

Forums are a great place to meet people who have the same or similar interest to you.

I have made many friends over the years via forums. It's much better than making friends with random strangers on somewhere like facebook.
