Federation Standard

Sideburns that are cut from the top of the ear at a 45 degree angle towards the front to form a point. The style was worn in the original Star Trek series.

I would be ok with "van Dyke"

Mine is the federation standard, but I used to sport a goatee at first, then it changed to the van dyke, then to the chin curtain. Now its clean shaven at all times .

I prefer men to be smooth and hair free, however, a little stubble can be quite attractive sometimes.
