Default Must Eat things in mumbai..

After seeing This Thread (Must eat things in Ahmadabad) i decided to start this thread...

Mumbaikar's can suggest some good place.. Starting with me, i will definately recommend one restaurant whose name i forgot but that restaurant is famous for it's dish called "SANJU BABA" not by hotel name

Sanju baba is chicken dish (They(Hotel people) say that this is the dish which sanju(sanjay dutt) really liked and he gave the recipe to hotel, that's why the name)... Well don't know how much it's true but the dish is really mouth watering and amazing...

Well this hotel is situated at "Mohammad Ali road" near "Grant Road"..Chicken lovers can go there and they wouldn't regret

Looking forward to see some more recommendations

I remember a small place in Chembur near the Fine arts centre on the way to the railway over bridge/flyover. It serves the best veg breakfast I have ever eaten. This place is not a restaurant, it is only one of those roadside shops which serve warm ready cooked food. I had stayed nearby and used to go there for breakfast every morning.

That place makes the best Puri Bhaji I have ever had. It also offered things like Idli, Dosa, Vada, Samosa, Vada Pav and the other usual stuff which you could have when having a heavy breakfast. Very cheap in terms of price but the quality was top notch. Sadly I can't remember the name of the place, but I do rememebr that it is run by a south Indian.

One other thing which is unique to Mumbai is Mohanlal Mithaiwala's Ice Halwa. The best damn mithai in this part of the world! From what I know they have many branches all over the city. The last time I bought it was from their Santa Cruz, SV Road outlet.

Don't go by the literal interpretation.:001_tt2:

Its a kind of mithai or sweet if you like to call it that. The taste and the shape of ice halwa are very unique compared to sweets like painda, barfi, regular halwa, kaju katri etc. You have to try it for your self to find out. If you are still in A'bad try to get it from Gwalia at Shiromani plaza, Nehru nagar. I think it is the only place in this city which sells it.
