    O ,No reply for so long , I thought u had died ......

    1) Did you eat all that by yourself ??
    2) What did you use for Garnishing ??
    3) Did you use a lot of Ghee ??

    last time i tried ... it was slightly rubbery/chewy like .... must have used the wrong proportion of ghee i think

    Ooooh looks delicious. Do you know, in morocco, they have something called as "halwa" which is same as our suji ka halwa. Its there even in Turkey. I suspect it came to India with the Mughals and Arabs.

    1.)Nope
    2.) I used Kaju, Kishmish(raisin) and badam(peeled and sliced was a very laborious thing to do)
    3.) Yup i did, used a lots of ghee but as well as water, infact i may say more water as you need atleast 2 cups of water for one cup of suji

    Yes, but the middle eastern halwas are not as sweet and rich as our
    desi halwas ;-)

    I will suggest that you use milk instead of water. Also add the following while making:

    • Kesar
    • A powder of liberal quantity of Elaychi (Cardamum) seeds and Jaiphal (nutmeg)

    Your garnishing method with Kaju and Almonds is on track. But Kishmish (raisins) should be added during the making. There is no need to peel the Almonds. And some Pista granishing can do wonders also.

    I didnt used the elaichi powder but instead i fried some elaichis before roasting up the suji..... and what the heck is Jaiphal :O

    But if kishmish is added during the making then they will be roasted for good and i think that will maar the fun,

    Moreover i soaked kishmish and almonds in the water for 15 mins or so, so that they can get soft

    @aashaka
    Dipping almonds in hot water hmmm... i will try as i used normal water

    @preeti
