    Default Cheese

I love cheese and can have lots and lots of it, but keep it to a certain and only required amount due to the calories and fat content in it.

Currently i have only been able to find Amul cheese in the little cubes and the slices, oh an also mozzarella which i can find at the local shop.

But like mails2sc and other have mentioned in the other thread there is cheddar cheese too which i have heard melts easily and is most ideal for using in breads.

But where do i get cheddar cheese from or any other cheese's from, as im unable to find them.

Also let me know what different cheeses you use and in what dishes.

I watch a programme called Cheese Slices on discovery T&L to satisfy my curiosity for cheese. It is a must watch show for all cheese fans.

coming back to the topic: More than anything People should be made aware of how the cheese should be grated. I have seen people literally rubbing a cube or a chunk of cheese on a grater with not much of an effort or care.

I don't quite like the amul cheese spread, I find it has a weird taste to it.
I put it on bread with cucumber and tomato and it was ok ok. How else do you use the amul cheese Aashaka you may have a recipe up your sleeve which may make me like it.

Ive seen that programme cheese slices once or twice, it was interesting to see how cheese is made.

My fav cheese is the Greek Feta , it is made of goat's milk. It is very soft and is usually added to salads. Another fav is the Mozerella which is "pizza cheese". The french cheeses are the most horrible!!!!! Most of them are blue and green in color which is actually fungus etc... And the smell alone will make you sick. They smell like rotten meat etc... YUCK!

Anyone know where to procure Parmesan cheese? I go to many hyper marts and all they have is Amul, Brittania, Kraft, etc. - all cheddar varieties. And the rest is all mozarella - for pizza.

Thanks, Aashaaka. But I was hoping for a supermart chain that has a shop in Pune also.

    Back on cheese.

I also love Gouda and Edam. I somehow do not prefer the ready-made cheese slices. I find that cheese too soft. I prefer Amul Cheese to Britannia. Of late cheese has become too expensive.

    the mozzarella on pizza ;-).

I miss cheese, since I am cutting down on calories these days

I love cheese! The UK has some of the most fabulous cheese in the world.

One of my favorites has to be mature cheddar and blue stilton. I can just sit and eat them on their own, but if you stuff a chicken breast with blue cheese and bake it in the oven, it is simply devine.
