    Default Momo blog.

Allright, i started eating Momos the time i was around 14 or 15. Usually we dont make such non-veg items at home, and it was also considered bad to eat fast food outside...

so my brother, took me to a nearby shop and with his friends he was, he ordered a plate of mutton momo for me.. (This shop keeper had been in jail and lost his license cause he was said to be mixing beef in mutton, noone knows the truth but it is tasty )
allright than i tasted it. first chunk of momo was the wicked experience. but as the flavours of meat and the red hot chilly chutney went inside my throat (and indeed nearly injured it), it was the beginning of love for momos. (after that i normally had momos, when i wanted )..

Apart from the taste of his momo(the bhutia guy) , his sister Dimple is a major attraction and she helps him in making and distributing momos to the tourists and hungry people like us, (she has a good smile and attractive eyes )

    1. Chicken momos: These are the most popular and best ones.. considering that momos are just hot and have no nutritive value except acidity and ulcers, i will like you to be responsible for yourself while eating them..

chicken with tomatoes, cheese, onions, spices (like dried ginger, garlic chopped) is mixed all together, stuffed inside these chapatees in the shape of half moon or dumplings, or sambosa(wikipedia) and is kept to feel the heat of steam inside a cooker (specially for it) and there the momos are getting steamed up for half hour. taken out and with a chutney of red dried chilly that has been boiled with vinegar, salt, and some beer like druk is fallen on it, making it hot red... injures your lips very easily.. avoid contact of fingers with your eyes and dont shake your hands with someone...

    2. mutton momos: another great delight of Bhutia-tibetan people.. only major difference is that chicken has been replaced with mutton/yak beef/simple beef/ pork etc etc.. sometimes they have even replaced the meat with that of a monkey or even a dog,!! wont discuss it here..

    3. vegitarian ones: the most improper.. for small kids and those who cannot digest mutton and any kind of meat.. meat is largely replaced with cattle food, like cucumbers and cabbage. waste of money and dignity..

and yes some people have even replaced garlic and onion from the chutney to substances like heeng.. dudes get some life..

sometimes, due to overreaction of momos with your stomach juices severe problems may arise like hot belly, kinds of aromatic gases may fume, hot on toilet, ulcers, blood in important calls, etc etc.. the only thing prescribed is that dont behave jump onto momos when you see them. dont hide them in red hot chutneys, dont mix kinds of meats and things all together..

Momos does best with many dishes.. like chowmin', thukpa, chopsue, burgers, chicken garlic soup, hot and sour etc etc.. best momos are enjoyed with chilled beer, specially the Bhutani ones. Godfather also does good with it..

since Momos are highly acidic. one should avoid eating everyday...

fried ones are better with good edible oil.. in shops they use soya refined oil which doesnt odor well.
