For 8 bit (NES) my favorite's Nestopia it kicks as*!
For 16 bit (SNES) i use ZSNES Home Page - About ZSNES
You can find the game roms easily, just a google search required.

the pleasure's all mine... i was so happy to find this last year... btw i finished super contra many times but with the 30 lives cheat
