I will not discuss warez (illegal downloads). :nono:
But I will discuss the game installation. :surrender:
- Simcity 4 comes with two disks (CDs)
- After 50% installation, it asks you to install the 2nd disk.
- The installtion continues and from then on 2nd disk is always required to play the game.
- The crack that exists on the internet allows someone to play the game without the 2nd disk always in drive.
- I am wary of craks and never liked them anyway. So what I did was as follows:
After the installtion, you must visit the EA website to update the game to the latest patches.:16:
- Using Alcohol-120, I created a disk image of the game CDs.
- Alcohol-120 creates two files per disk image, an mdf file (main image) and an mds file (image mount).
- Using Daemon tools, I load the image and it is always loaded. Thus I play the game without 2nd physical disk.

Should I click "Xtra Wizard" in Alcohol to create the iso image of the 2 folders..
There you go, J4X will take care of everything now.
I am not too conversant with Alcohol. I just use it to create image files of all my games and use them as backup.
But I suspect that the two folders of disk 1 and disk 2 are not compatible with each other by the game CD key - meaning - one disk belong to a set that has one CD key while the other belongs to another set which has different CD key. Just my guess though.
Or you must not be creating the ISO image correct.
Otherwise, installation goes without a hitch.
The serial in both the folders are same....
As I said earlier...
When I mounted the ISO image of first folder using Daemon...the folder got opened (see the attachment) & I had click on the autorun to install....Then pop up message came to insert the cd 2.
Then I mounted the second folder. & click on "ok" on that pop up message. But nothing happened....

Why don't you mount two images at the same time? Using Daemon tools create two drives instead of one (Set number of devices = 2).
I also tried that but no use.....

Well, I did it last night... and installed the game... experimented a bit in tutorials... then finally started wrecking havoc in God Mode at the lil city I created... It was awesum... I felt like God!

whenever u download a game... or a big s/w, look for the file description... and preferably go if it has image files... like .iso, .mdf, .daa etc...
My game has 2 iso files in place of ur 2 folders...

I got a CD for 75 bucks....
Buying a pirated CD is just as bad.
