Every other person in India has this problem of not being able to say NO... The day you learn to say no life becomes so much easier and I learnt to say no when I stayed in states for a year and after that I have never said yes when I meant no and it does solve a lot of problems.

Business, money, relations, friends... you name it and it helps you every where.

On the other hand there is a certain sweetness attached to this problem and you would find this problem of not being able to say no more in rural areas and I have had my share of exposure to villages and cities so I know whats what in both the worlds... I love the way people are in our villages but you cannot make it big in material life with that mindset.

I myself suffer from the problem/syndrome. In my eagerness to please clients, I agree to something without thinking and then regreting later.

I am trying hard to correct my malady but it so darn hard.

Why do Indians give wrong direction ? And y dont they say no ?I dunno ...These Guys just piss me of bad .... I would have hated them had it not been the fact that i too am one of them ......

Just the otherday i met this girl at the mall ...I met her in the first floor she asked me how to get to the Draperies section ?
Now i had no idea which one she was referring too [still dont ]
Anyway i guessed she might be referring to the floor they keep all the bedspreads/curtains/blinds etc
So i told her the direction.

Well i continued on my own purchasing expedition ... i went to the men's section and to my surprise find the girl coming my way walking and looking totally lost ...So what do i do ?
    Before she spots me
Duck out of sight and Escape !

[I dunno if the problem was whether i told her directions forgetting that we were in the first floor and not the ground floor ! or whether draperies meant something else...or maybe i might have even heard her wrong !]

Well thats only 1 of the million blunder's i have done ....I am also known to give wrong directions to my own house [yeah!] ...and to say "go right" while i am pointing to the left with my hand .....

    Y do i do this?
    I have no idea

@ShAdOwCoN, Basically we also do not like to admit that there is something we do not know.

Yes .... I too learn t that lesson ...saying yes and not doing it ll mean that Your dignity gets degraded ...people think cheaply of you ...... Only to say yes when you r damn sure of completing that job ....Otherwise tell them you may not be able to make it ...for whatever reason it is .....
Speaking specifically about work i ll never say Yes to a job i am not sure of completing ...and will try my best to complete it ...even if it seems a trivial task ....Well i do get my rewards for it ....

    BTW
Why refer to Caucasians as white ? ...i think its a little cheap ? Y not Britons,Americans etc
