    New DVDs:

    1. Wall-E
    2. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of ...
    3. Batman Begins
    4. We were Soldiers
    5. Dr. No
    6. Live and Let Die
    7. 3 DVDs pack of Twins/Kindergarden Cop/Junior
    8. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
    9. Gone in 60 Seconds
    10. The Bourne Supremacy

Except the first two ($18.99 and $14.99), all were quite cheap - about $7.50 each.

I wanted to buy a few more - were not released - e.g., The Dark Knight.

But I am thinking that I will stop buying DVDs now - Blu Ray is the way to go. Only f*****g thing is that they are currently very expensive - $30 apiece.

Good news for US citizens - Blu Ray players have breached the $200 barrier. Some brands such as Insignia are selling for $199 - and most others have players in the range $250 to $299.

Some bad news - Circuit City has filed for Chapter 11.

aXXo operates from Sweden - it is widely believed - no one knows really. In Europe the DVD is out probably.

aXXo is the Internet alias of an individual or group, allegedly harassed by Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) for infringing copyrights by converting commercial DVD movies into computer files that are then uploaded on the Internet for free download.Due to the illegality of copyright infringement, aXXo's background is unknown, despite numerous attempts to uncover his/her/their real identity.

aXXo files are popular among the file sharing community using peer-to-peer file sharing protocols such as BitTorrent because aXXo produces files of comparatively small size and consistent quality. This quality results from aXXo's reliable synchronization using codec encoding programs to encode digital files. Because of aXXo's reputation for re-encoded quality, the aXXo name is faked as an identifying source by a variety of imitators.

Sony has already a BD player selling in India - there are two models - both ridiculously expensive at Rs. 49,990 and Rs. 29,990. Sony also has Playstation 3 selling in India which is also capable of playing BDs.

I have heard that Samsung will introduce a BD player soon.

Couldn't find it on the shelves. I did not have enough time to order it online.
