What you need is a DVD authoring software. Such software will create the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders, *.VOB files plus the *.BUP, *.IFO files that is required to make it a true DVD

You can use Nero to create a video DVD.

Moving the thread to "General Offtopic" forum and title is changed.

@mumpapa, please do post a thread with proper title.

For those who are interested in making a true video DVD:

Step 1) Capture your DV-Cam or whatever source on your PC using software such as WinDV or Pinnacle Studio, ULead VideoStudio, etc. There are plenty - some are free. The capture will be an Windows AVI file (not to be confused with DViX/XVid AVI file). The file is a raw capture and huge - 5 mins of video = 1 GB file.

Do not make huge file. After 10 minutes of capture, pause and save the file. Begin fresh capture with a new file.

Step 2) Edit your raw DV capture. This step is optional. Again all the above softwares (except WinDV) can let you edit. You can remove unwanted content and add fancy effects like fade-in/out, twist out/in, titles, etc. while editing.

Also combine all raw files into a single feature film.

Step 3) Encode to MPEG2. DVD requires MPEG2 compliant video. MPEG2 is a lossy conversion. So use a two pass variable bit rate of 4000~8000 kb/s for best quality. The resultant file(s) will be .MPG.

Step 4) Use Nero or TMPG DVD Author to create a DVD. Nero is pretty basic and you cannot create menus or entry points with it. I recommend TMPG DVD Author. It will allow you to create menus - including motion menus, entry points for skip fwd/bkwd, etc. It will make your DVD look totally professional. Both Nero and TMPG DVD Author can burn your compilation to DVD media.

Hope this answers. There are big video forums that deal specifically with all these.
