Thread: Invisible Mode on Google Talk

Apparently google talk have a new feature an invisible mode, but i can't find the option to be on invisible mode, i have even downloaded the latest version of google talk!

no its not there on google talk..its there in gmail's gtalk..check there..

u mean when u open up gmail, the box on the side with gmail talk!

I have also tried that and i cant find it on there either!

there is drop down..ur status drop down...available...busy...etc...there u'll have invisible...

It does not have invisible option... You are probbably talking about yahoo messenger.

Why do we need Invisible option ?

stealth mode...if ur busy..or if ur not interested in speaking with some one..u can hide..

Well for one you can heartily chat wid gf without other ppl nagging you... but really the uses are endless...

Another alternative is to use gTalk Always Idle, but it just shows your status as idle...

Anybody tried google talk labs edition ?

unfortunately it doesn't have many other regular features...

- support voice chat
- file transfer

But just think how the other will feel when he/she somehow come to know that the other is avoiding him/her........................

I don't think that will work.
Because it will show a message saying that the user is offline and cannot recieve any messages now and that it will reach the other when the other comes online........

yea..but when u go off-record..the other person will not get the msg when u comes online..instead ...u'l get a msg in red color saying he cant receive ur msgs...

It's probably because you are using the older version of Gmail.
Switch in to the new one. Then, you will be able to use that.

Did u really mean gtalk, coz its not available in gtalk...

You have the option only in gmail. Hope solves your issue.

I didn't notice that you were talking about Google talk.
Yes invisible mode is available only in Gmail.

You can also Video Chat in Gmail (gtalk).
