i think e-bike technology is in amateur state in our country.....first of all its load bearing capacity.....second they are kind of fragile keeping in mind roads of india.....& their milage (kms that can be obtained after one charge) is kind of low.....thats the reason y most of the ppl dont go for it......though they are gaining popularity in markets...but their best time is yet to come

@ ag prasun
DMRC offers free cycle parking at all stations with parking for smart card holders AND also has cycle-on-rent in selected stations on the University line.

There are now many high stamina E-Bikes available in India that offer upto 100 KM on a single charge and has high load capacity. But they require a driving license.

Public transport ftw.Use the bus wherever you go.
The cycle is not an option in Mumbai where I live...there's just no space on the road :P

I would suggest travelling together, ask your friends to pool in for petrol and travel together, if you got a bike, you can ask you friend and if you got a car than you can ask even for your friend's gf

I don't use my bike during the weekend, I either walk or use my cycle. I use my bike only if I need to travel long distance.

I am a fan of hyper-miling and practise the same on my P150, M800 and Innova. Plenty of tips for the same can be found out by mere gogle searching.

BTW i heard that, in Singapore(correct me if m wrong) to drive a car u need at least 4 ppl sitting in car. If u travel alone in the car then police fines u. So four wheelers owners always offer lift to the ppl walking . very impressive IMO.
yes tht is very much true for singapore...! in singapore travelling by public transport is encouraged. To buy a car in singapore is like almost clearing soo many rounds of interviews.....unlike India....n other places arnd the world!

yep, its not yet developed fully....! in ahmedabad we ve got Electrotherm who manufactures Yo Bikes which are battery operated n pretty trendy n all.....a lot of them use it .....n its affordable. Plus we r getting BRTS as well.... hopefully doesnt happen like wht happened in Delhi plus we ve footpaths for pedestrians on all major roads, n a cycle track also on some roads....!!!

i myself try to conserve fuel......i stay in outskirts of the city....n since i work with my dad ....we try to go togather at times.....doesnt work out always since both of us ve different places n work to do..! plus if i m gng toward like city to meet frens or shopping or nything...i make sure to finish all the work in tht area too......rather than gng again....it jus needs a bit of planning...!!!!

I always wonder, if govt, can set one day in a month, as NO Automobile day, except for emergencey vehicles like ambulance, fire trucks etc.
Every one just travel via cycle, or foot, or by rickshaw, atleast for one day in a month.

Or anothee option is to restrict vehicular traffic on certain days of the month based on vehicle registration number.
I think this is being practised in some countries.
