    Default The best Chai wala

I dont know how many people here have had chai from the typical Indian chai wala ... but Ive had my share of pet chai wala's.

The best chai wala I have ever been to is at Gurdaspur right infront of sadar police station where there is IHM Gurdaspur ( hotel management institute) which has now moved to a new location into a newly built building but the last time I went to Gurdaspur while on my way to Vaishnodevi I met our chaiwala again where I had spent 3 years ... yeh thats where my classes used to be... used to sit inside his stall all day long and hardly ever went inside the institute.

His name is Fauji ( thats what we used to call him) and he makes excellent tea and also serves paranthas and bread pakoras..

I do not have a picture of him or his shop now but I will get one if I get a chance to go there again... in the mean time I have found another chaiwala who makes great tea and he sits on the road side in Dwarka Will get a picture of him and his tiny stall when I go ther next

It would be great to hear about your chai walas if you have one not many people are fond of tea from these small stalls these days and their numbers are going down by the day ... Long live our great Indian chai walas.

Any pictures would be much appreciated.

We can actually have a huge data base of chai walas here and pick the best one and make him a celebrity atleast on this forum

This his name printed on it and he says its for adversiment.

    His name is "Shanker Yadav"

    Hi,
I agree with you ma'm, you are very right. Ruturaj is excellent in Tea and coffee ( also bournvita ). I've heard lot about IIM-A Kitli but never got chance to have test of it. But one of the best best Kitli and chaiwala outside NID Campus, Ahmedabad.

The test of tea there is superb. I just love it. I was working at NID on one project sometime ago, so i got chance.
