Thread: Highest poster contest discussion continues here ...

i thought he was asking to change the stats page excluding those topics which are not included in the contest,thats why i said this and admin replied this for saurav's 4th query..........if i'm wrong than sorry please........

We cannot have sections included for first few days and excluded after for the reminder days. It is one way or other. I have no objections to either ways and as a mod I am not participating. So let the majority decide.

If all of you are so insisting on including the Offtopic forum why did some of you report the posts in the "Good morning/night", "Log off", and other such threads? I actually thought that most members were in favour of excluding these sections.

I am not complaining () but I am bit puzzled by the reactions on both sides.

I seriously dont know y there is so much chit chat abt the contest. Just act normal guys, like there was no contest. I really dont care abt who wins or not. Its abt having fun and helping ppl. For those who are here for the money, instead of spending so much time here, work overtime and u will be paid more.

first of all - I never reported posts from the general offtopic forum. in fact i never report posts for being small.

i think as the rule was set on the first day of the contest , different contestants targeted different sections according to their interests and this amendment (excluded sections) can become an undue advantage for some who didnt post much in these forums and can be disadvantageous to the people mostly posting in those sections.

the final decision is upto you people. i only request you to make a final decision (once and for all) as quickly as possible and update the stats page accordingly so that we can keep track of our exact positions.

i respect your opinion. but i am still a student and for the time being i am BEKAAR (till i get the joining from the company in which i got placed) .i only teach a few students of my educational field and do some small incomes online from PTCs(i know most people here hate PTCs specially admin) - these are my only sources of income at this moment. i already posted before on this forum somewhere that i am enjoying and liking this forum a lot and "i am here to stay not just for the contest". i frankly say, this contest thing made me so active on this forum which has now become a part of my life. i see this contest as a good earning (and simultaneously learning) opportunity. thats why i am serious about this contest.

yes you are right Rajan, contest is there for the sake of fun, but what's the harm in fighting for the first position?
so friends, whats the final decision, is the contest still on without any change?

what is the final decision on excluded sections? and when will the stats page reflect only the post counts from included sections? it is impossible to keep track of the actual number of posts without this .

one more thing

isnt the contest period jan21 to feb 19 ?? i read the updated first post and its written there jan20 to feb19 . i am just a bit confused

i guess they exclude the post counts after contest.......but this is not good because at the time of posting you dont know that you are on which position on stats for the contest...........because stats page is showing only the total posts........

Guys, i can't understand why you guys are in favour of excluding the section at this time of the contest. as I said earlier, there are less than 15 days left in the contest. we can carry these new suggestion to the next contest. what the use of amending the rules at this point of time. I m seriously hurt. moreover none of the mod or admin is replying over here.

ya i'm also not feeling well after this info in the middle of the contest that some topics are getting excluded ..........

but we have to respect the admin/mods decisions.....

it was not that late my friend and arghya chatterjee welcome to IBF....it wont matter what place you get the thing which matters is you get a prize if you are on upto 15th position and the amount of prize wont matter the main thing is that,it was a prize.......good luck for the contest...........
