Both are correct but the second one is constructed better and makes more impact.
There are two plea's in the sentence - kindly and request. When they are together, they do not add up to make a strong case. When separated by few words their presence makes more emphasis.

This is a common grammer mistake - related to articles (a, an, the).
- A word that begins with a vowel is to be articled by an or the.
- Ditto for words whose first letter is silent so that it appears that it begins with a vowel, e.g., honour.
- For all other words, the articles to be used as a or the.
