    Default Using Rapidshare premium account

I'm thinking of buying a Rapidshare premium account, but there are sites on the net that give you the username and passwords of such accounts for free. Of course, they belong to someone else, but if you want to download a small quantity of stuff, they serve the purpose. What I'd like to know is how safe it is to use such accounts - I mean, the ones posted on the net. Will the real user be able to catch you for it, here in India?

In other words its called theft.

There is a reason for those user names and passwords to be posted on "those" sites.. Nothing in this world happens without a reason.

Here is why those guys post those user names and passwords..

You need to understand the complete picture first... Some one's pc gets hackaed or his/her e-mail account gets hacked and the rapidshare user details are taken out of there..
Now who ever steals those details is actually a criminal and this act of his is punishable by law right... and the thief himself understand this so he doesnt use those accounts coz he doesnt wanna get caught... he posts them on public forums instead for others to used them and get screwed in the process... so if there is an investigation there will be thousands if not hundreds of people who would have used those details and it would not be possible to single out who the hacker was who stole them details... The sole purpose of posting those in public is so that they dont get caught.

Here is how most of them get those details :

PS: this is just for informational purposes.

The hacker creates page which looks exactly like the rapidshare log in page... then he goes to some file sharing forum and creates a thread... instead of posting a link to a rapidshare file he just types the link to a rapidshare file and instead hyperlinks it to the page he created and it prompts the user to log in... most people who have rapidshare accounts are used to of filling in the user name and password everytime they download a file from rapidshare and as soon as they fill both the fields and hit submit the details are sent to the hacker.. this is whats called phishing.

Always check the properties of any link you click before clicking on it...

DO NOT USE OTHER PEOPLES ACCOUNTS.

Spend some money and buy oe for yourself.

RS also uses cookies to store login info, so you won't have to enter it everytime..

    @ Admin

Thanks for that info; it does make sense. But I have another question

There are sites which offer RS premium links, like you go to that site and type in the address of the RS file you want to download, and you don't need to wait or anything, you can download as a premium user. Most of the times these sites don't work or have got too many users.

I've heard that these sites work by a variety of ways - sometimes they phish or keylog others' accounts, sometimes real members donate their accounts just before it expires, and sometimes some guys actually run it with their own accounts. The site, of course, never tells you how they are serving you; they just give you free service and in return you are supposed to click the ads or something. So is it possible to implicate a person because he used such a site which used an account that was got by phishing the real owner? I mean, will the real owner come after your neck then? Because using such a site doesn't necessarily mean theft, since at times they are run with accounts of people who know their account is being used.

Fortunately/Unfortunately ppl are that dumb to get phished. phising is not the case with the RS......its with many other premier services too.

    @ HydraHeaded
Let me give u practical answer......there is nothing gonna happen to u. I know someone (using BSNL BB) whos using phished accnts from last few years.

What admin told u is theory.....but its important.

I think there is list of the official RS resellers for each country on RS website.....India's name is there in too.....check that in case u interested in buying.

but buying things online never gives u 100 % service quality (remember the RS banning BSNL ip range few time bak or server downtime). so risk is always there.

There are sites which offer RS premium links, like you go to that site and type in the address of the RS file you want to download, and you don't need to wait or anything, you can download as a premium user. Most of the times these sites don't work or have got too many users.
This is what know as RS premier link generator. Its too safe to use practically.
no one can take guarantee(cleaned or phished) of the underlying accounts for that

    Lastly my view :

BTW wht we download from RS: 99% of the time Warez (normally movies, apps, cracks, Eooks etc). so here my common sense speaks. what is warez....huh? In other words its also theft.

so i see no point in buying RS & then use it for stealing (download warez).

in nutshell, if i were u, i wont be using the bought RS accnt to get warez.

plz note this is my personal view & i am not promoting warez or piracy.
