Thread: A bad coincidence or what?

Look at this front page of The Times of India, March 2, Delhi.





The Mumbai edition was even worse...




These 'Real' people should have chosen a newspaper which doesn't shpw all the bad news on the front page.


Which brings us to another discussion... should these newspapers show all the terrible stuff on the first page itself... shouldn't there be something good on the front? Specially on the weekend papers? I'm sick n tired of this behavior.

Even 2 days back, a new channel called CNEB or something like that was showing a report on global warming; now you'll say thats very good, they are educating people on the threat... but no they were instead instilling fear in the masses.
That 'report' was in the usual 'masala' tone, with the heavily exaggerated background music... Its ok for me and you, the educated folk (who don't even watch these bogus 'news' channels by the way) but what about the large number of uneducated folk?

They will be scared to death... One personal example was on the day that the Large Hadron Collider was to be tested for the first time at CERN laboratories.... all the Hindi news channels were not transmitting the scientists' explanation that it would not annihilate the planet (like some were concerned), instead they concentrated on the doomsday theory. That starting it would surely result in the end. They in fact gave the time and day that all would end or something like that. And you know what?? The maid of my house refused to show up that day because she wanted to be with her family on the doomsday! It was the same with the gardener.

WTF?

You know what all this is possible because people can go to any extent for getting money, through any means........

We tend to thinkthat

• politicians are there to help us/country/world wateva... NO
• newspapers/tv/media are there to entertain/keep us informed... NO
• Government is there to serve us, the public.... NO
• Schools & colleges are there to teach us.... NO

ALL OF THEM MERELY EXIST TO SELL THEMSELVES & EARN MONEY, regardless of what's at stake....
