    Default Bachpann Ki Yaadein..

    Got it as a forward…Thought to share it with u guys…..Really nostalgic……..

    Good old days...

    • When gulli-danda and kanche (marbles) were more popular than cricket ...
    • When we always had friends to play aais-paais (I Spy), chhepan-chhepai and pitthoo anytime ...
    • When we desperately waited for Ramayan, Mahabharat, When chitrahaar, vikram-baitaal, dada daadi ki kahaniyaan were so fulfilling ...
    • When there was just one tv in every five houses and When bisleris were not sold in the trains and we were worrying if papas will get back into the train in time or not when they were getting down at stations to fill up the water bottle ...
    • When Holis & Diwalis meant mostly hand-made pakwaans and sweets and moms seeking our help while preparing them
    • When we were exchanging comics and stamps and chacha-chaudaris and billus were our heroes ...
    • When we were in nanihaals every summer and loved flying kites and plucking and eating unripe mangoes and leechis ..
    • When one movie every Sunday evening on television was more than asked for and 'ek do teen chaar' and 'Rajni' inspired us ...
    • When 50 paisa meant at least 10 toffees ...
    • When left over pages of the last years notebooks were used for rough work or even fair work ...
    • When 'chelpark' and 'natraaj' were encouraged against 'reynolds and family' ...
    • When the first rain meant getting drenched and playing in water and mud and making 'kaagaj ki kishtis' ...
    • When there were no phones to tell friends that we will be at their homes at six in the evening ...
    • When our parents always had 15 paise blue colored 'antardesis' and 5 paise machli wale stamps at home
    • When we remembered tens of jokes and were not finding 'ice-cream and papa' type jokes foolish enough to stop us from laughing ...
    • When we were not seeing patakhes on Diwalis and gulaals on Holis as air and noise polluting or allergic agents
    • When we were using our hearts more than our brains, even for scientifically brainy activities like'thinking' and 'deciding'
    • When we were crying and laughing more often, more openly and more sincerily ...
    • When we were enjoying our present more than worrying about our future
    • When being emotional was not synonymous to being weak
    • When sharing worries and happiness didn't mean getting vulnerable to the listener ...
    • When blacks and whites were the favorite colors instead of greys ...
    • When journeys also were important and not just the destinations
    • When life was a passenger's sleeper giving enough time and opportunity to enjoy the scenaries from its open and transparent glass windows instead of some superfast's second ac with its curtained, closed and dark windows...

I think that was the real bachpan which we enjoyed.....

When being smart meant being more helpful and intelligent rather than making other fool for going forward pushing others backward.
In short..we are getting selfish..now we are so busy in making our life that we are not enjoying it at all...its like we are in rush to get a goal..but our attention is more on path rather than the goal! We are too aggressive to reach the destination that we are not enjoying the journey! I have posted this so that we dont forget that life is possible even without mobile phones, internet and sci phi things, what matters is how happy we can make others !!
So never miss a opportunity to enjoy...to have a talk with old frens.. to remember how simple life can be!
    Enjoy!

    P.S
While reading this i remember one of the dialogue from movie Peaceful Warrior

"The journey is what brings us happiness not the destination "

gothic .. i must say it is wonderful .. those were the times,
and ur so called 'mod' smothie was my sweet little brother asking me to always buy a 5-star, aloo tikki and few coins to play his fav video game "mario" ... they used to charge some Re.1 or Rs2 per game ... and he used to play for hours using a single coin ..he was famous

ur post is like a barish ki bondein in the sunny days very nice

also, after reading the akkad bakkad i remember the one we used to recite and the one that is famous now-a-days .. my daughter sings it like this

    100 me laga dhaga
    chor nikal ke bhaga

    chor ki bibi achchi thi
    dulahan ban ke baithi thi

    chai garam biscuit garam
    peene wala besharam

Hey Ashish, its a wonderfull thread... Oh I miss those old days terribly...

    Rep added!

    @smoothie

Even I was a big fan of those primitive console videogames... Mario & Contra were my favorites... I remember I used to go to my maternal uncle's place during summer vacations on one condition... That I'll get a Re. 1 coin everyday to go and play videogames...

Oh I loved Bomberman and circus to an extent too.... Though I must have played it, I can't recall Arcanoid... Was it like bricks or like space shooter? Never liked Balloon fight much...

More games which just came into my mind are B-Wings & 1942... I loved them...

    Arcanoid:

    Attachment 2221

I was not into shooting games so didn't play 1942 and Bwings much.

There was one more game, I am not able to recal the name, it was on 6th or 7th no. It was a Single player game, I think its name starts from G. We used to put bombs to find keys to next level.

    Default Sweet Gone Memories

Bahut achha laga, wapas apne bachpan mein jakar. Yeh us samay ke har bachhche ki sachchai hai. Us samay mein saadagi aur santosh tha jo ki khusi haasil karne ke liye kafi tha. Aadmi ko ati kamane ki harbari nahi thi. Diwali aane par sab ghar wale bajat banate the ki kitna paisa kisme kharch karna hai. holi mein ek din pehle gubbare bharke rakh dete the. 15 August mein subah 5 baje uthte the taki subah subah patang uda sake. kanche khelte hue mummy ko bhi dekhte rehna, aur agar park mein aa jaye to bhagna, warna pitai padti thi. That was really an enigmatic past which cannot be buy or borrow. Time cannot comes again. But these are the memories which we can relish by share our thoughts and experiences.

So hoping for continuation with this, I am bow to our past and bless for all the person's wellness.

Always feel better when goes through the memory lane. Really awesome days. Today's kids cannot get in now a days, what we had at that time. Even wandering for the entertainment was entertainment itself. No problem of hygiene etc at that time, and all persons were enjoyed street foods with proper pomp and chow. No filter, RO or purifier were there at that time. No sticking with computer or mobile were there. Ringing of phone was marvellous, and to run to pick a phone. Moving of Antenna, and shutter of Beltek or Texla TV, from which running of rats were awesome. To record the voice in audio casettes, and also roll the casettes tape with pencil if it put out from casette in tape recorder. To rent a VCR for watching the films. To fly a kite on 15 august, to read a comics, to filled a ballon one day before on ocassion of Holi, to make a gujiya with parents, to purchase a loose bread piece (8 piece of 1 rupee), to play video games in shop (Super Mario, Contra, Street fighter, bomber man etc), to purchase a toffee (of 5 paise each or even 2 of 5 paise ), to make a noise when electricity comes, never ending list.............. always seems ecstatic to walk on a memory lane. It is like becomes bachha again, and feels everything what has done in past. These are the spots which will never be faded. Just say thanks to everyone to wet us with going rain, and makes us child again.

That is true, I hear stories from my older cousins on what they used to do and play, these days its all technology and not much creative, progressive or outdoor play.
