Thread: [HELP] Shipping from USA to India via FEDEX

My friend has bought a NatGeo Bag for me,which did cost him 80$ and he want to send it to me , Assam,India..
He wants to use Fedex for it ,but I dont have Fedex here in Assam.
The nearest Fedex is Kolkata..

I have few questions;

1. He will be charged 80$ for shipping. Whats the Custom Duties ? Are they extra? Who needs to pay that ? He or I ?

2. It says,they will deliver it in 10 days ,but since I dont have Fedex in my state,so will they get it to Kolkata and send it to me via some 3rd party service like BlueDart or DTDC ??

3. Will I get the product directly or I have to pay some additional charges ??

Ask him to use USPS international priority. Should
cost around $20-$30 and you'll get it in a week.

I don't think you should worry about customs for just a bag.

If there are customs fees you have to pay it.

Are you sure,it would cost 20 $ for shipping from USA to Indian via USPS ??
My client is bent on using Fedex, as he has it in his neightbourhood..

Have you tried Fedex bro ?

He says,I can get it delivered to me in 2-3 days even..

I dont have Fedex offfice in my area. WIll Fedex send it via 3rd party , Bluedart or DTDC ??

Im still unsure abt USPS,or else,I can surely convine him to send via USPS...

There are more US Postal office locations that FEDEX.
Maybe it is just nearer to him.

I have tried FEDEX for small documents but not parcels.

If Fedex doesn't have service to your area they use the
local services. USPS is the same.

If they cannot deliver it to your location they say upfront and don't
accept the parcel.
