Thread: casette voice to cd/dvd/digital

guys
my uncle is fond of Mukesh and Mohd. Rafi, (indeed almost all old songs)

he bought atleast 500-700 cassettes during his working in Delhi..



now he is asking me to convert them to some digital media, like CD/DVD..
the songs have good and recording quality is very nice..


i wanted to know that how can i change them to cd/dvd ??

i thought to record the voice on mobile but its not that quality..( i can convert amr to other formats later using ffactory)

what should i do? so that atleast nearly 90%of the sound is captivated in good quality.

i can't buy any hardwares..pls help..any suggestion is most welcomed./

use a walkman.
if ur PC has stereo mike-in then get a stereo to stereo jack else get a stereo to mono jack.
connect walkman to mike-in of PC
play walkman and record in PC with any standard software. u can even convert to MP3.
burn CD.

Yes, i used to do it this way. but, the quality will be pathetic.

quality depends on the quality of the jack and the wires used in it. a good quality jack would get nice results.

I remember recording the full cassette of gayatri mantra this way sung by Anuradha Paudwal couple of years ago.

or you can buy a sony music system with usb support...insert the casstte and record it to pen drive

I used to do this. Find a good player (cassette player) which has line out. Use simply plug in to your computer's line in (Usually blue, near to green of speaker and pink of Mic). Change the recording device from Mic to line in. If you are using a TV tuner card, use the same port where you plug in the line out from Tuner Card.

guys can i put the cable from the earfon output port of the casette player???

i have the cable for it.. it has the same pin both the sides..

I used Nero Wave Editor in Nero 7.5 pack. There are a few other tools also. But this one served my purpose. You will find it if you are using Nero Burning ROM for burning CD/DVD.

yes i am talking of the audio out..and its jack is same as of the earphone..



no i have a phillips tape player,(the big ones,)
