What is he is saying is correct . The North Indians look down on south Indians as we are dark (not all) and the south look down on North Indians . Anyway it is not rascism , it is sons of soil theory. The Bhai Bhai thing will be very nice . All said and done. We Indians are not a bad lot , we do not hate others . I hate to say we have a soft spot (including myself) for foreigners. Even the media is soft. There is a column in the Hindu about foreigners adapting to Chennai. I am sure there will be no such column for Indians in USA . Let us be not be too harsh on ourselves aand be proud to be Indians

^^^ from what i gather from "phoney" peoples comments in TOI, most of them mention that the actual reason is beacause Indians are "Soft targets".

Intertainally we define as a Peacef-loving country, unfortunately for us, people abroad consider as cowards for that very reason.

According to a comment by an australian women, the main reason is that Indians generally appear docile, they don't argue with anything and now that sends a wrong message to those criminals. And people from countries like china have no problem because of "percieved might" of their nation, thought they may not be rich either.

thats speaks volumes about the actual reasons why criminals get away with everything.

Most Indian students have taken huge amounts as loan (quite a few must have given their house as a security). They have so much to loose and so much to gain. So people have no way to show courage. Only a few are able to show courage in adverse situations. Most people show courage when they feel safe.

No yaar, by nature most of us are timid, ie we always don't show any opposition. Then again there are poor guys from other asian countries too, somehow they don't face the problem ? why so ?

Our lifestyle gives us a very bright character. We cannot live unnoticed. We may represent a poor country, but by standard of living and quality of thoughts, we are supreme to others. May be they do not like an Indian with better qualities.

And the negative side is we are like a disease (for them). We are virtually unstoppable. If you let one Indian in, a lot more will follow and earn good name than Europeans. Europeans are more practical than us. That is both their strength and weakness. If for only practical sides, we would be directly enrolled as doctors and Engineers.

i have been reading a lot of Aus blogs and posts ......
The mass protests have shaken them . they think there are too many Indians in Aus !

This is what some of them said

1. Indians are rude . They talk loudly in hindi , they keep their ring tones too loud .
2. Indian students living in Aus are taking up part-time jobs such as Taxi driving
3. They do not follow rules i.e they talk in libraries ..... they take over computers at public libraries using them for hours continuously in groups .
4. They are naive . Indians students (even girls) go out at night alone .
5. In a University (forgot the name ?) some Indian students tried to squat on western commodes and broke it ! ...... Now they have a separate Indian style "toilet"
6. Indian media is being racist by hyping this issue and blaming it on white Australians .

I know that atleast some of these are true , but does this deserve a racist attack ?

Indians are prays to the unwanted racism...

BTW does any one know why so many Engineers/techies belonging to AndhraP/Hyderabad have been killed in US since last 2-3 years?

Answer that and you will know why Indians are attacked in "western" countries.

Simply because they believe too deeply in their dogmatic beliefs. Things like loongis, eating messily with hands, doing large tilaks on their foreheads when they visit the temples, etc.

Doing things like that in India is absolutely fantastic, you are just doing what your culture tells you. No problem.

However doing things like that in US is not cool. They think of you as being different, alien etc. They think that you have not integrated yourself in their society. You are living like a parasite, and not actually part of the main stream.

The above post should not be taken as an offensive post for any Andhra-ite. I have no problems with their culture or way of living but the things I have said are facts.

Correct...but Muslims are above any criticism. atleast in con-party ruled states they are. Remember: Islam is a religion of peace.

Oh and one more thing: Next time you post something don't copy paste (underlined) things from the previous posts. It looks silly.

Melbourne: Adding to the growing list of violent attacks on Indians in Australia, a taxi driver from Hyderabad was reportedly bashed up by a drunken man here.

The 35-year old victim picked up the passenger in an inebriated state, from the Chapel street for Blackburn suburb in his taxi, before being attacked by him on Sunday morning.

"After we reached Blackburn the passenger then asked me to take him to Ringwood when my taxi tyre went flat. I tried to tell him I won't be able to take him any further and he started abusing me," the victim said on condition of anonymity.

The victim, hailing from Hyderabad, was then bashed up and punched by the attacker.

"I have injuries on face, leg and hand. I have two broken tooth as well," the victim, who went unconscious after the attack claimed.

The man was then taken to Alfred Hospital by the police, who then informed his family. The man was discharged on Monday, a family member said.

Police, according to the victim's family member also got hold of the attacker.

The victim said he did not think it was a racially motivated attack but an "opportunistic crime".

When contacted, hospital authorities did not provide details of the victim. There was also no official confirmation of the incident so far.

Honestly, I'm wondering why he didn't return the favour :angry:
