I believe in luck only until some exent but surely dont blame or depend on it for my success or failure.

If luck has to be given a place in our normal life then i would suggest, "Luck is the gate which will open itself if you are eligible but to walk through it and reach the destination its your hard work"

Luck can never be taken into account of our hard work, as Admin has said if people didnt get what they want, they blame on luck thats all what it is for.

I believe on hard work and the potential of the person. Even if luck exists and is true, i dont want it to interfear in anybodies life and increase or decrease the value of their hardwork.

Ex: A person who is very hardworking and got 75 % marks in his exam. Another person with luck doesnt read properly and score the 80 % in the same exam and gets the job.
Now decide was it fair to the hardworking person ? NO.
Is it fair to the company the luck person has joined ? NO. The company thinks that he is efficieent and gave the job but he is not at all a hard woker so even company will not be happy.

At last my openion is, Use luck to blame your failures infront of others, but never consider it for yourselves.

I strongly believe in the butterfly effect. I have a personal
experience with it. In fact what a coincidence you should mention it
I just found her on facebook after 10 years. so as to the debate topic
I strongly believe in the external force called luck which moulds most
of our lives.

p.s have I used up 3 of the 4 chances? I'll make my 4th one
in more detail.

I totally agree on that point, never depend on luck / miracles. But luck is surely a word in anyone's book who is associated with stock market. There are matters which yield result beyond logical reasoning. Consider Tata's move to acquire Landrover and Jaguar. It was a perfect move if there was no recession. Now they have registered a loss of 2500 crores. People who invested in Satyam, they thought they are completely safe considering its balance sheet.

I never believe that only luck can give you success but luck has a great role in life.Topic luck is 10% player in life it's not matter only one point of view luck can play role in every point of view like your relative, health, education, economical background, accident every point of view.
From human born to death it has great effect in personal and professional life.So no one can predict the % because it's vary to every individual.

I think that we have debated enough on the topic. Let us choose another topic.

Mobile Plans: Is post-paid better than pre-paid or vice-versa?

I think postpaid is far much better than prepaid, not sure how many of you will agree to me but quite a few things which i like about postpaid:
1. No need to run behind recharge cards
2. Monthly bill summary statement helps to analyse calls and the time spent on phone.
3. You can actually decide and reduce mobile phone usage after checking on monthly bill.
4. There is no tension of low credit or disconnect while talking.
5. Can keep a trace of monthly mobile expenses.
6. I just think postpaid offers better plans and deals.

I prefer pre-paid. It lets me choose

1. How much I am willing to spend per month/week.

2. Prevent over use.

3. Move into new offers

I have a post paid connection and the only reason is that with prepaid you dont get any unlimited gprs package and thats what I need to check e-mails and be connected on the run...

Else I would prefer prepaid and be able to switch providers without having the change my number as you can do in a lot of other countries... There was something in the news some time back but then never heard anything about it after that.

Possibly, it depends upon the usage style.

If the usage is low, mainly texting and receiving calls, and only occasionally calling but for short duration, then pre-paid is better.

However for all the opposite of the above, post-paid is better.

i am subscribed to pre paid plan for personal use and post paid for my office use.
On my prepaid i assigned 3 numbers as family & freinds, which gives the faclity to talk between three nos. for paise20 only. whereas my office no. has a CUG facility where i can make free calls between the group of thirty five people. also i get 600 minutes of free calls monthly with which i can call any network. also 5000 free sms's every month. although i dont use sms much on my office no. On prepaid, sms is charged 0.05 paise. both pre paid and post paid have advantages and dis advantages, but postpaid is what i feel is slightly better suited for my needs.

I think for me pre-paid is better than post paid although I have both connection one pre-paid(vodafone) and one post paid(BSNL) but still I like prepaid because
1.Easy to maintain expanse
2.No monthly rental for me in pre-paid I feel it's cheap than post paid.
3.Don't need to pay bill within due date

I have postpaid now but I don't care one way or other.
I don't use any advanced features anyway in phones.

Me too. I just use basic phone features. Have never subscribed to caller-tunes, hello-tunes, ringtone/games download, etc. My phone is Nokia 1110 (and I am not ashamed to display it).

I used pre-paid when i was in college, and need to restrict my usages, But now a days i prefer post-paid.. Actually it depends, If you manage to restrict yourself inside the pre-paid usage then it's real good, Else go for post-paid one, and analyse you calls usage..
